I am thinking of purchasing a JBL Auhtentics 500 speaker. Before I do so, I would like to understand its compatibility with Spotify better. Is it possible to control a JBL Auhtentics 500 speaker via Google Assistant voice commands to play Spotify music? The reason I ask, is because the JBL One app doesn't have Spotify as one of its streaming services. I do have the Google Home app with various wifi speakers, and want to know if I can add the JBL Auhtentics 500 speaker as one of the wifi speakers in the Google Home app, and then play Spotify via voice commands on all speakers including the JBL one.

I’m not sure about Google assistant as I don’t have an android but it does have compatibility with AirPlay and by association Siri so I would assume the other side works as well but am not sure

Please, do I need to connect with phone to play Internet radio or it starts to play it automatically when I just press the play button on the box?

I’m not sure what you mean by internet radio but you do need to connect your phone to the speaker. Then you can connect the speaker to your WiFi and then you can later connect your phone to the speaker through the WiFi. You can use Alexa with it as well but I’m not entirely sure how that works. You definitely can do it though

I have had this system a month. The sound quality is so darn average that I kick myself for buying it. You are better off with an amplifier-based stereo system with dual speakers. Furthermore, the speaker has hardware/software issues with continual shutdowns. One of the worst purchases ever. If I had tpo buy it again, I wouldn't spend more than $200 on it.
