I have the duel hooks and I use a "boost" type move with the hooks, I basically hook the ground below me a few blocks in front of me so I press space right before I get to the block to get a little boost

I absolutely love the Christmas hook. It's currently the best hook in the console version since we're currently only at version 1.2.4. I may upgrade to the lunar hook once we get the 1.3 update, though.

You should be able to combine the Static hook and antigravity hook at a tinkerers workshop so that you can have the most mobility. up/down controls the static part left/right controls the anti gravity part. just an idea though. would be pretty op

I like these 3 3. Webslinger - available pre-hardmode and many people like having 8 hooks (I don't) 2. skeletron hand - easy to get and 2 hooks 1. Slime hook - easier to get, 3 hooks but with a little less reach

My favorite hook is the bat hook. It pulls you in the fastest, can be obtained at the start of the game, and has really long reach considering when you get it.

5: dual hook- it's a good hook for beginning hard mode 4: Ivy whip- a good pre hard mode hook with (I believe) 4 hooks 3: Christmas hook- it glows and looks amazing at the same time 2: anti gravity hook- the ability to have 360 motion around a block is a MAJOR plus for me 1: static hook- the ability to get closer/farther away depending on your needs

The web hook is pretty good prehardmode, but it instantly becomes irrelevant once you get any hard mode hook. I used it all prehardmode once I got it, it's pretty good, especially with 8 hooks.

personally I prefer lunar hook over static hook. The static hook is good for building (then again so is cute fishron mount) but using it in caverns can be hazardous, especially if you try to use it to get out of lava.

I feel like Terraria should add a Plantera hook. It's the vine that plantera uses to walk around. It is an expert mode item and has a 35 tile reach. It is called Plantera's Vine.

In my opinion, the Web Slinger hook is one of the best because it has 8 hooks usable all at once, It might be better than some of the ones on this list(but the static hook is the best don't worry.)

my top ten hooks: 5: emerald hook 4: slime hook 3: dual hook 2: spooky hook 1: Christmas hook emerald hook Cuz it's really easy to obtain and can break so many falls early on slime hook Cuz the king slime is easy to farm and the hook is the best pre-hardmode dual because it is easily obtainable, is much better for getting around, and has much better range than the ivy/slime hooks spooky in 2nd because of two reasons, one, it's pitch black, so it can be hard to see sometimes, two, it doesn't glow like the Christmas hook Christmas hook because it's my favorite hook! it is a huge range hook, has 3 grapples, glows, and it has nice grapple speed! if you can't tell I kiiiiinda can't have the 1.3 hooks cause I kiiiiinda don't have 1.3
