I bought a yamaha pacifica012 3 months ago, till now it works the best, there is a big advantage of yamaha in comparative to both i noticed is that they got only 2 knobs, not 3 like the strats, also it sounds pretty good, there is a lil buzz in humbucker pickup but it's pretty good, i have played squire and i have to say it's more confortable and better than it, dont know about strydom

One thing to consider is, the Yamaha has a narrower nut at 41mm and a flatter fretboard at 14" radius, which also gets pretty wide at the higher frets.

Soundwise the Yamaha really did it for me. In the US there are a lot of budget options for Strats. The Magna however seemed the best buy overall and waiting for your pickup swap video. Any plans to come to the US?

Squier is certainly overrated even being on the affordable side. The pickups are probably the worst, body thickness is lesser compared to American standard. But, my Squier at least was well setup and stayed in tune, so maybe I believe it could be the piece you received. I have nothing personally against Magna, but it's just another import from China with someone coming up with a brand decal which says 'Magna'. Anyone who is drop shipping can do it today. What else do we know about this company otherwise?

1st comment woohoo. Excellent video. Personally the Yamaha sounded a bit better on the bridge but looks damn bulky and prefer the look of the contours on the Magna. The Squier is literally scrapwood and does not even deserve a single point. Looking forward to the pickup mods on this, are you going to change out the pots and selector switch?

Am sure the swap on the bridge will make a marked improvement. The pots and switch will remain as is as we want to focus on the sound difference with just a pickup swap.

Pacifica is well build and sounds okay. Affinity sounds better in a sense of fender. But it is poorly built, made in china.

No clue. honestly, I have not tried it, and it does have a coil split option which is great but not going to be revisiting it any time soon. The Pacifica will always have better sounding pickups and now with the price at 13k, the upgrade to better would take it way beyond 15k so not advisable.

Second HSS MIM Fender Strat else the Aria HSS Strat are your best option under 40k. Not tried the higher end HEX stuff and would not recommend the Squiers as they are hit and miss.

😂😂😂 pacifica is a proven brand for more than 10 years and u r putting it behind procraft!!!! Hats of to u for daring to compete with Yamaha. Hahahhaha. Guys donot go for procraft. U get much better budget guitars Newen guitars, yamaha pacifica(which no one needs any introduction), Sterling sub music man, ibanez 121 dx, epiphone les Paul 2.of these guitars, if u r on a tight budget go for pacifica and newen blindly. Even fender bullet strat is not bad at all. Donot believe in such videos who forcefully tries to promote their products ahead of other proven brands. Rest it is all ur choice.

That is an interesting statement, but we have done our best to be impartial and taken into account all factors including tone and price. Some of these guitars are really quite good and the comparison was fair and non biased.
