Best HVAC/R Vacuum Pump Under $400

I use the Robinair 2 stg 15500 with a one hose set up 3/4 hose. Works great and payed $300 new at the supply house. Keep that oil changed and take care of it and it will last and do the job. Do not go too cheap because this is a piece of equipment that you need to work, when you need it to work. Buy a cheaper one for a back up.

Spend $180 on a trublu vacuum rig and get a $160 pump from harbor freight. You’ll get home faster with WAY deeper vacuums and have time to spend that side $$.

I think your onto something there. Strangling a great pump with bad hoses won’t get you anywhere.

can anyone tell me if its better to get a corded vacuum pump or a battery powered vacuum pump for use in nee commercial hvac installations? this is my first pump im looking to purchase and am looking for good advice on what model and kind of pump to buy

Some places don’t require much licensure so it’s possible to do “legal” side work. I do agree that most of it may be less than legal.
