May looks so... crisp when she's shaved. Like her black markings *really* stand out when she's shaved. So pretty. All the goats look great shaved but the ones with such contrasting colours (like the Dawn line) just pop!

Lillie and Daisy are both part pf the Dawn line, right? Or just Daisy. I cant remember who the heck is related to Schillie, Lillie's mom was Lacy? Or Little Bit (sad to see her go, loved Little Bit)

@@Night-ud4ew You can tell the maternal line by the names (Dawn, Dreamer, Daisy, DInky, all D names, all maternally related). Schillie is Sky's daughter. And Lillie and Little Bit are both Laci daughters. (And yes, so sad with Little Bit. She was so pretty and such a personality.)

ALSO, is Daisy Dinky and Dreamer all siblings out of the same batch of Dawn's kids? Theyre all the same line but i cant think of another D name for any Dawn children before them. I know Dreamer is Dawn's baby but arent all three the only NON Dawn of the D line? I honestly kind of forgot about Skye, whoops! I was like Schillie is the only S name, right? Do you know who Cami's mother was? Was it Obie? --- Champ is actually Obie's son, nvm

That was actually a little easier than i thought, i went back to a video i watched earlier today "Meet the does were breeding" from 8 months ago, Dreamer is the year before dinky and daisy, but is Dinky her daughter? That's the only thing i didnt see, if Dinky was from Daisy's batch with Dawn or if Dinky was Dreamer's. I actually saw part of Dawn's 2021 birth (our blue eyed polled doe gave birth to 3 doelings) and Cami is actually Dawn's niece, "[Daisy] looks exactly like Daisy, Cami's mom, Dawn's full sister" so Cami is from the Dawn line (whatever Dawn's mother's name was). The D line now makes up most of the herd then i think, with Cassie and Cami + the 3 Ds making the herd cut. That's pretty interesting TBH The only doe i cant figure out what line they are from now is Abilene. Ive looked at the doe lists and can't find an A anywhere aside from her, and cant find any video that said where she came from (that i picked up on at least)

@@Night-ud4ew Oh. The Cami thing is because Crystal raised Cami because her mom rejected her. So C names now. And Abilene is from a doe named Anna who then didn't ever breed for them gain and IIRC they culled her. She's a Lucky daughter, and I think Elsa's niece (I can't remember if they were full or half sisters, or just bought at the same time).

Of course those Arizona goats would like a spicy treat! Darrin and Emily did a wonderful job. You can tell they work all the time around the goats and practice their techniques before a show. It is flustering when the animal just doesn’t feel like it! Good persistence from Darrin and Emily, don’t get frustrated!!!

Emily, when I was sixteen (waaaaay back in 1981), I got to go on a study abroad trip to Scotland, studying for a month at St. Andrews. One day we took a day trip to a farm that bred Clydesdale horses for Budweiser! We saw these gorgeous, majestic animals at various ages, and they took my breath away. Congratulations to the whole Blue Cactus family on a job well done showing goats at the fair!

Mayo walked in like she owned the place until the judge went to feel her utter, she didn’t want any part of that. So happy Darren and Emily won 1st place in showmanship. May is still doing beautiful May. Daisy will settle down as she get older and has more shows under her belt. Lillie got her first Reserve Grand Champion. I hope Abilene get to feeling better once she gets home. I love the beginning part of video for Derek’s Goat Show song. Great start to a new show season.

Daisy needs more one on one training. Maybe someone playing the judge and with a few rowdy does behind and I'm front of her (that you aren't planning on showing) so that she learns to stay calmed even when approached and touched by another human or if a rowdy does is in front or behind her. She is insanely pretty and maybe she just needs to learn how to ignore distractions (including gates) better. I feel that the extra one on one training will pay off next year. What a beauty! 😍
