Best Indiana creek fishing spot 2021 smallmouth bass fishing

I've been spending a lot of time on Google maps trying to find new places to explore. After days of research and driving I found the perfect place. After a few trips on some access points I located I learned their were nice fish on there. So I decided to grab a partner( Big Brother Jeff) and wade as far away from civilization as we could and see what lives there. The answer may surprise you.

There was 3 of them along there. Its quarry property. I'm guessing its old train tracks from back before they had the equipment they do these days to move those big slabs of limestone.

I knew he broke me. I heard that snap and then heard my heart break. There were 4 big ones there. I thought my cast spooked them but really they raced after it. Not sure which one picked it up but the smallest looked 15".

Lived close to this creek for almost 3yrs before I decided to try it. I drive over the bridge on my way to work. One day I stopped and looked over and seen a smallmouth swimming around. The rest is history.

Great options. If you're wading I recommend Clear Creek in Bloomington. Excellent creek with good smallmouth. I have a few videos on here from two of the locations.

I had my brother release it while I stood a few feet in front of the fish. I was able to follow the fish because it swam towards me and away from its capture. Afterwards I slowed the frame down just a little. This requires filming it at atleast 120fps for smooth flow.

No advice on the spook, I typically go buzzbait for early morning topwater. But with that being said, I target more of the deeper parts of the lake in the morning and then work my way up to the bank lines.

Buzzbaits are killer all the way down to the creeks. I would base it off how spooked the bass are. Sometimes they want something suttle and sometimes they want something loud. Start with the spook and if you don't get the desired reactions move to a popper or buzzbait.
