I wish Naim would ship their Naca5 speaker cable with these demo units. Naim amps are designed with this cable and you won't hear its full potential without it. I've tried other fancy speaker cables with Naim amps over the years and I always come back to the Naca5 in the end as it is much better.

I have found that high capacitance speaker cables do not get the best sound from any Naim I've used. 12TC into Supernait 2/3, 250 DR, Atom, etc. No overheating, but they flattened the image and reduced bass control and impact. Even the AQ Rocket 88 would be better.

In my humble opinion, US$10K is is too much for an all-in-one streaming integrated. With US$10K, you can literally buy a very powerful Class AB high end integrated. For example, you could get a Gryphon Diablo 300 and worry about the streaming later or just get a cheaper streamer such as the Eversolo DMP-A6.

In my opinion they have different strengths and weaknesses, as well as different intended uses. The Naim is first and foremost about streaming, and in that it excels. The Hegel is more of a traditional analogue amplifier even though it also has a streamer/DAC in it. The Hegel is very smooth, while the Naim is very exciting. Unfortunately what you like better is going to come down to your personal tastes and your needs regarding functionality and paired gear!

@@poetryonplastic thanks for your answer. either i will buy hegel h600 or naim uniti nova pe. currently i use h390 with revival atalante 5 and such stereo set plays very well. i wonder if naim nova pe will also play with bass at low volume.

@@poetryonplastic Hello Michael, I would very much like to have your guess on my dilemma if you have the time :) See, I just got my Focal Sopra 1, my biggest purchase so far (I also have a focal clear, I am french, what can I say? haha) and I am looking at 4 intergrated amps I have never heard and probably will never hear before I buy one of them due to my spanish-noHifishoparound-location : Hegel H390 or new 400, and old Naim Uniti Nova or the new Power Edition that you just reviewed. So what I like about these Naim is I get HDMI arc for the TV and jack for the Focal Clear (I wonder though if it will be better than the Mojo 2 I have so far, any idea? And also if you happen to know if there is a difference between the 2 versions of Nova for the headphone use?).Price for the power edition seem steep and maybe not so useful for bookshelves like the sopra 1, what do you think? I just wonder if the PE can be worth the long term investment if the class D does things noticeably better yet than the old Nova and thus not have any regret to go big directly instead of loosing some time with a Nova that is almost outdated already since it launched. So the question is simple, what would you do and how much of a better sound performance would I get if I go PE knowing that I have bookies and focal clear,and use almost only PC on a TV as a multimedia set up? I understand the Hegel are meant for turntables and cd players which makes the Hegel kind of irrelevant in my case, I am right? Anyway, thank you for a real complete review well done on this product even though it is so expensive for me that I will still need some convincing to chose between those gears. I feel like a swinging state right now lol good luck with that by the way ;)

@@gaegacy6803 Ok, I can only give you general advice but my biggest recommendation is to try and at least hear a hegel/sopra or naim/sopra combo before you make a big purchase. At 89db The standard Nova should be enough to power the Sopra. I've heard Sopra/Nova at a few shows and its a good combo. The PE is in my opinion is a little more forward than what I remember the standard Nova sounding like. The headphone jack is a plus on the Naim as you state. My own personal preference is for a slightly warmer sound than the Naim/Focal combo sound that I've heard before, which is why I would lean Hegel. Remember, with the fixed outputs on the hegel it's very easy to add a separate headphone amp later on. I also personally prefer that Hegel do not digitize their analog inputs. I haven't heard the 400 yet but I am reviewing it very soon on this channel. Hegel's sound is much more tube-like in many regards, basically in every area except the bass where it is very focused and strong. These are just my impressions and opinions, hope you find something that you like!

I have a hegel h390 with revival audio atalante 5 and I will honestly say that it plays very well. Today I borrowed a naim uniti nova pe and I have the impression that the hegel has more detail in the sound and that it is somehow more pleasant to listen to. I am about to decide whether to sell the h390 and buy a naim nova pe or is it better to buy a hegel h600 right away, which I have not had the opportunity to listen to yet. I like the naim nova more in terms of appearance, but it is obvious that the appearance will not play for it, so maybe it needs to warm up. Has anyone heard the hegel h600 live?
