In this video I give ten reasons why the Electrocompaniet ECI 6DXII has become my favorite integrated amp of all time. It has the looks, the build, the features and most importantly, the sound quality and power that can drive any speaker.
Electrocompaniet has been around since the 1970s and is made in Norway. The quality of this brand is second to none when it comes to reproducing audio in a way that is pure musical. It speaks the language of music indeed and I never heard an amp quite like this one.
The ECI 6DXII has the detail, the soundstage, the imaging but it does this all with a shade of warmth and fluidity that reaches out to touch. The midrange performance is incredible as well, with its specialty being the human voice. It can be so real at times. Listening at 2AM at low volume is also a treat with a fun bodied presentation, still with all the details and space I could ever want.
I love this amp and find it odd that more are not talking about this company! I hope you enjoy my thoughts on this piece. Be sure to see the written review for comparisons and listening notes!

I've been wanting to try their products for decades and I now really want to try this amp and their power amp. I also would love to hear them hooked up to the Audiovector R1 Arrette with the grounding cables. I think you should review those speakers at some point with this amp. Audiovector are also Scandinavian and are stunning. Should be a match made in Heaven.

Not interesting. That is one of the most artificial mechanical amps out there 🤔 I prefer Class A and tube amps or otherwise look at Michi or Unison or Vincent or Unity Atom series or Circle Labs A200 for instance 🤔

The company name (according to my Norwegian friends) is pronounced 'electrocompany'

The last T in the name is a silent T. Except if you are posh. The "i" is prononced as a double "ee" in english. The name is translated to english as "The Electro Company".

We have two companies outperforming Electrocompaniet here in Norway - Dynamic Precision and Musical Innovation. They don't make integrateds though, only seperates.

a few observations ,,,,,, this unit is almost 8 grand yet does not have a phono stage ......... the phono stage adds 4 grand ..... if you are not using it for phono then you don't even need an integrated as just a simple buffer such as the PASS B1 that can be purchased for 400 is all you need to match impedance and control volume ....... with technology on streaming updating and improving so fast why in the world would you want to lock yourself into an all in one unit ?

I have the non-DAC/streamer version and the amp/pre itself is where the great sound comes from. Sound signature is smooth, lush, and expansive, but with plenty of detail. Most amps this smooth do so at the expense of detail. This one maintains the detail, but never get fatiguing the way some do.
