You are really inspiring...can you help with shooting a timelapse for a flower that takes 4-5hrs to bloom...what should be the shooting interval and the number of shots to be taken...Thanks
@MattiaBicchi3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! If you want a 35 sec timelapse I would shoot with a 15/20 sec interval and shoot around 900 pics.

Hey mate just came across your channel and amazing work mate 🤙🏼 I’m so keen to give a day to might time lapse ago what settings would be a good starting point ? I have a 16 mm f2.8 on a Sony a7iv
@MattiaBicchi24 күн бұрын
Hi! Thank you! So happy you are enjoying my videos! You can try first the Av method, but the camera can introduce flicker during the night. I would suggest to do the manual method to get a perfect result, start at the widest aperture, so you won’t see vignettes increasing during the timelapse, then once the light is going down start increase the shutter speed up to 5 seconds from the interval you set, i.e. Interval 22 second, shutter speed 17sec, once you get to 17sec, start increasing the ISO, 6400 is a good top for the A7IV, once you are at 6400, set the shutter speed at max 20sec and then wait. You can check this video where I demostraste this technique: How to Create a Day to Milky Way Timelapse kzbin.info/www/bejne/r3PJq4avbZVgrrs let me know how it goes! ☺️

Hi! for capture Milky Way and sunrise in row what setting do you suggest?
@MattiaBicchi Жыл бұрын
Hi! If you have a standard intervalometer, I would keep with the Milky Way interval all the time, so 20-30 sec. If you have a LRT pro timer, you can ramp the interval to get a longer sunrise. So starting with 30sec intervals and finish with 5sec.

glad I found your channel. Lots of good content. One question, when shooting astro, are you saying the exposure is 20 seconds and the time in between photos is 5 seconds long before the shutter is triggered again?
@MattiaBicchi3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much Ariel! Yes, I set basically a 25s interval between shoots. Depending if you have a faster write camera/card it can be even less time after the long exposure.. sometimes I have a 23s interval, so 20s exposure and 3s of ‘buffer’..
@stoolin97063 жыл бұрын
@@MattiaBicchi Interval is a confusing term. So a 25 second interval means exposure time (20 SEC) + buffer (5 SEC). So for Astro if I'm shooting a 20 second exposure a buffer f 3-5 seconds should be fine?

Yes, Correct! 👌

What interval do you recommend for solar eclipse?
@MattiaBicchi9 ай бұрын
I would go with 1 sec intervals, cos is very fast, I think it only last a few minutes
@lewisforsythe14039 ай бұрын
Ok thanks...but I'm going to want the whole event. Apparently it's around 1 and a half hours. I would like a one 30 second video of it all ... what do you think?...
@MattiaBicchi9 ай бұрын
Mhh I see, if you are shooting wide.. maybe 3/4 seconds. If you are shooting long and tracking still 1/2 sec max.. you will end up with tons of pics, but is you can speed it up in post if needed.
@MattiaBicchi9 ай бұрын
If the interval is too slow, 5/8 sec, the actual eclipse would last so little..

Hi, what interval would you use for the moon setting ? Would you also use AP mode as it will be going from light to dark ? Thanks.
@MattiaBicchi3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! For moonrise or set I’d use a 1 second interval if you are shooting with a long focal lens. With a wide lens a 2 or 3 seconds interval. I use Av mode but you need to trust your camera that can do a good job on the exposure and do a bit of work on LRtimelapse to smooth out the transition.

isn't the interval the double of your shutter speed because of the 180degree rule? so if my shutter is at 30s it would be 1 minute during each photo right?
@MattiaBicchi Жыл бұрын
Hi! That’s a rule for video recording, the 180 degree rule can be applicable on TL when you have short interval or SS, but with long exposure (3sec + ) I wouldn’t follow it, because will make your timelapse shoot way longer and faster. Hope that makes sense..

Hi, if you are shooting a sunset, you can set an interval of 10sec.
