For audio, let's not forget the great option to record with the internal iPhone microphone AND a high quality external microphone separately and syncing the audio in post. That's fairly easy to do in most video editors and it gives you a lot of freedom of where to put microphones (or how many to use).
@greatMomiz Жыл бұрын
Yes I didn't like any of those mics

Small Rig now makes a form fitting cage for iPhones it's the best thing out if you're going to add microphones and lights to your iPhone. It doesn't look like a monstrosity like most iPhone cages and it has multiple quarter inch sockets. I would highlight recommend going with something like that as you can hook your iPhone up to a proper tripod, shoulder rig, or even a stand if you want your camera in one location where you want multiple cameras. You can also mount a proper recorder, handle, lights and microphones to it really easily. The biggest problem is that there are not any quarter inch sockets on an iPhone, the small rig form fitting cage fixes that issue. For one person. You should be using something more appropriate such as a lav mic. For a single track with one person Zoom makes a simple clip on lav style microphone with 32bit audio called the Zoom F2. If you're worries about syncing pretty much everyone from Rode to Sennheiser makes clip on lav style microphones,

I rarely sub a channel by watching the first video. Yours was different! I just got my OM4 and watched your video on it and subbed immediately! Your voice is perfect for narration, particularly for documentaries! Can you please make a video just for beginners that points out important features of DJI OM4 and how to make Instagram or KZbin or vloging on it? I am not interested in pro film making, I just want my clips to look good. For example, where do you get background music and stuff like this. Thank you.

Helpful, comprehensive, but shy of daunting, and informative without overload. Exposing some products available I wasn’t even aware of was of value also so thank you. With yearly phone model releases, app improvements, and after market accessory improvements/releases I’d love to see update videos in the future. The amount of work required to produce this staggers me and I can’t think of a single thing I could have addd to make it better. I’m very happy I discovered your channel recently.

@@SiHorrocks WOW!!! There is a PRO MAX... What is the difference from the iPhone 12 Max (or is that a Pro Max too?) Thank you so much for your fast reply... I am having coffee and re watching your video again... LOVE THIS... The Teacher (me) has so much to learn... In 2009 when I was in a movie set... the Continuity person used a iPhone 4... and I fell in love... it was really great. They (the crew) was using the Canon 5D Mark II ... it was so different from the REEL (REAL) Film I was used to (00oopps just told my age)... What was crazy... is the iPhone 4 back then, ended up being "B" roll in some cases... One more question: I have the 17" MacBook Pro (11 years old) and obviously need to get a newer Computer... What do you suggest... and what about an iPad too... "Why Not" LOL I have waited years to reopen my Acting Studio... and I need to get into the 21st century... I think I need to go to work for Apple... LOL Or at least be a liaison. Thank you again for all your help. When I get my new computer... I will sub... my old Mac will not let me Sub... Poor Baby. One issue I don't hear too much talk about on this and other related videos is how these external products can be used whilst keeping your Iphone charging. I recently purchased the ZOOM iQ6 external microphone so that I could have good quality stereo videos of my band rehearsals. Unfortunately, relying solely on the internal iPhone7 battery, I can't get as long of a continuous recording that I would like without having to stop and recharge my phone. I tried to use a lightning splitter, but it simply did not work. Have you run into this, and if so, do you have solution? By the way, I am not married to a lightning type microphone, however, I would like to have a nice wide angle stereo microphone.

my question here is, if you're filming from a distance, how far away can you be for the mic to work on your voice? like i.e. you have the shotgun rode or the rode videoMic Mel. I am looking for mics for a short film so in that case i would need something that woldnt pop up on a shirt of an actor but more from a distance. ofcourse if its longer than 10 meters, perhaps you could hide a mic underneath the shirt? But what do you think? haha Loved the video btw.
