Love Kenny Wheeler's music! My all times favorite album by him is Deer Wan. Such a lush, soaring melody there, very powerful (also kind of melancholic).

I saw Kenny Wheeler quintet in Paris in 1990 with John Taylor John Abercrombie Dave Holland and Peter Erskine One of the best jazz concerts I ever seen Kenny had just released the double big band and sextet album on ECM

have not heard this one, yet (another one to buy 😁) completely agree about KW; very individual & very underrated. first heard him on Bill Bruford's 'Feels Good To Me' (which i got for Allan) but KW really stood out & knocked my socks off with his amazing tone ✌🤯👍 all star line up albums like this; cant go wrong 🤷‍♂ thank you SS 👍👍
