The katana is great for pop and rock. I personally don’t like it for jazz. That being said it’s all in the hands. You can get a good sound out of any amp but it definitely wouldn’t be my first choice

Depends on the settings and String gauge the catalyst is great for jazz the clean channel can easily be dialed in For jazz tones all you really need is a good clean amp sound And some minor tweeks 90% of the time it's not the Amp hurting your tone It's most players not understanding how different pickups Sound from certain amps Your pickup and model of amp will impact your guitar tone This is especially true in jazz
