I enjoyed watching your thorough review. That's some impressive min-brightness less than a nit! Not sure if true but I heard oled tv/monitors arn't dc flicker-free like a typical ips/va monitor? Specifically at lower brightness there is a pwm flicker that's inherent to all oled?
@TotallydubbedHD8 ай бұрын
Thanks buddy, I appreciate it! They do indeed suffer from some sort of flicker, that's why OSRTT struggles with OLEDs.
@GeordiLaForgery8 ай бұрын

this guy doesn't know what he's talking about. small AMOLED displays often use PWM to improve low brightness response, big OLED panels don't use that, they're pure DC and as a result, they can look less uniform at the lowest brightness.
@GeordiLaForgery8 ай бұрын
@@chengong388 Of course I don't know what I'm talking about, that's why I asked the question! I checked the Rtings review for LG G3 55" and it's not flicker free either.

The nit nerds would. I'm not trying to give you a hard time, but a 100 dollar lumen meter would be wise in the future. Most reviewers do it. Seeing what the display will do in the 25 to 50 pecent range is a gamechanger and give those who understand a better understanding of it's ABL. Other than that, it was a top notch review. @@TotallydubbedHD

Can anyone confirm that the sound coming from this monitor via DP is good/rich or do you get a tinny sound? I have set it up and also managed to update the firmware to the latest v1.11. The OLED picture quality is great, but I think something is wrong with the sound? It has 2x10W DTS speakers but the sound coming from the monitor is without any bass and sounds like a cheap speaker, very tinny. I tried all the settings in the OSD, but to no avail! The monitor is connected to an nvidia Geforce 3080Ti via HDMI cable. The audio is fine on my LG monitor and I haven't changed anything in Windows 11.
@TotallydubbedHD5 ай бұрын
It's pretty impressive for a monitor, at least with the settings shared. Shouldn't sound tinny, although isn't ever going to replace proper speakers.

Is 138Hz a problem because of Framepacing? (especially for a TV which used to watch 30fps movies) I think 42C3 is better..its becoming even cheaper now after 42C4 release. The most worth it OLED monitor here (for $899)

Don't know to be honest, so can't advise. But this isn't a TV and doesn't have an aerial.
