Do you find that your suits and dress shirts get wrinkled pretty badly in the Hook & Albert?
@knivestown3 жыл бұрын
I have the Saddleback flight bag and I can tell you it is rugged, but not in an unsophisticated way. I enjoy products that are overbuilt and will be around for years. This bag is good looking, functional, can stand up to the passing of years and presents itself acceptably in the board room or on a weekend in the RV.

I mean if I left them in there for days, sure, but not for a trip assuming I unpack right when I get to my destination (which I usually do anyway)

Nice video...very informative...just curious to see if you are familiar with Satchel and Page. They produce various fine leather products including leather bags, weekender type bags, etc. I find their products to be of very high quality and priced very competitively. Just curious if you have any experience with Satchel and Page, and if so, what are your thoughts? Thanks.

I have done a lot of research on the h&a weekender. And a lot of reviews says its very heavy when packed all the way. When travelling far, It'd be cool if there was like away to slide it onto the handle of a roller luggage/carry-on. Because just laying the straps over the handle will not be secure enough i imagine, if just rolling around it will fall off. Can you confirm any of these things? The weight? How travel friendly it is? short trips. Long international trips. Heavy carrying public transit. Etc. Much appreciated!
@WonG4mMo4 жыл бұрын
Also stuck between this model and their carry-on garment bag. Like the carry-on, but it is small, and doesnt have 4 way spinning wheels.
@EffortlessGentTV4 жыл бұрын
I think it's perfect for weekend to week-long trips, maybe 2 jackets max. Any leather duffle bag will be relatively heavy when fully packed, at least in my experience. But with the shoulder strap, it's fine. I've never used this as a secondary carry-on, only as my main, so I haven't tried carrying it on top of a roller bag.
@EffortlessGentTV4 жыл бұрын
Yes I haven't tried their carry-on garment bag yet. I did see them online, they look cool

Any worry with the hook and Albert bag since it’s only top grain leather and not full? For that price you can get a full grain bag that would last a lot longer
@EffortlessGentTV6 жыл бұрын
A grocery store plastic bag will last forever as long as you take care of it. I don't fuss too much about full grain vs top grain, they're both great quality. Just take care of your stuff and it will last a long time. I have solid plain Old Navy T-shirts from 2007 that still look great, because I take care of em

In your honest opinion, which do you think has a higher quality feel and vibe, LeDaveed or Hook & Albert? (I know one is a slim briefcase and the other is a weekender but LeDaveed makes duffel/weekender bags too so judging from the slim briefcase I can assume the LeDaveed duffel will be just as good, if not better.)
@EffortlessGentTV5 жыл бұрын
The LeDaveed leather and hardware is REALLY nice. The functionality of the Hook & Albert bag is clutch. Depends on what's more important. Sounds like the former? If so, then LeDaveed. Hope that helps!

@@EffortlessGentTV Thanks for the reply, it does. Perhaps you can make a video comparing duffels from LeDaveed, Hook & Albert, Korchmar or the like and compare their functionality, capacity, and quality. It would be really helpful and interesting!

Effortless Gent Absolutely, if I had a bag I was using like any of those every day then 100% I'd be looking to get one of the same quality. Took me a while to realize the benefits of higher quality goods, but people like yourself and The Modest Man have really changed my attitude. Looking forward to your future content!!!

Hook and Albert looks very interesting Are the materials and build quality worth the price?

Based on the few times I’ve used it, I’d say so. Build is solid, leather is a supple top grain, stitching is nice and clean, functionality is 💯

@@EffortlessGentTV Do you know of any brands that make something similar. It seems the H&A is very limited and exclusive / hard to find.

@@EffortlessGentTV Thanks for the reply! Would you say they both go well with every outfit? And If I get Tan, does my other luggage have to match? ie backpack and suitcase?
@EffortlessGentTV5 жыл бұрын
@@maverick2264 Black would go with more stuff if you're concerned about matching. I typically don't worry about matching my bags to my outfits. Leather bags sorta stand alone. And no your other luggage doesn't have to match. I have a ton of different bags, all different shades of brown, black, and navy, nothing matches.

LeDaveed beautiful bags. Wish they made larger leather items. Hook/Albert weekend if I remember right only has one zipper on the garment end (where you put in your suit), this is a huge no as mine broke at the airport.
@EffortlessGentTV5 жыл бұрын
Ah that’s a bummer. Have you reached out to them? Also why were you opening the garment compartment at the airport? Most compartments in most bags only have one zipper... how many would you put?
