I'm planning on playing resto shaman as my main alt and can't wait to play with Necrolord Primordial Wave, Swirling Currents and Tumbling Wave conduits, and Primal Tidal Core legendary. The synergy is so cool! Reminds me a little bit of how resto played in Antorus, which was my favorite tier for shaman. I've never been a big fan of chain heal builds and love the single target splash cleave healing, I think it's so fun.

Thank you for the high quality analysis videos. Don't ever change. Edit: I don't think you did Priest justice, though. The other options aren't super good on their own, but some have interesting interactions with talents and covenants. Crystalline Reflection gives you a cheap option to proc Twist of Fate for progression content, because your first reaction to someone dropping low would be PW:S. This allows your first subsequent Shadow Mend to already benefit from the +20% healing. Shadowflame Prism allows you to do a lot of damage, especially if you decide to spec into Mindbender. I don't know whether the AoE attack triggers Atonement, however, it should benefit from Shadow Covenant if you do choose to take that talent. Vault of Heavens adds a 40 meter dash to your kit which is mobility that priests naturally lack. It might be useful in situations where you need to be at two places at once. Combining it with Venthyr's general ability you could even be at 3 places in short succession. A simple application I can think of is that it allows you to sit down and drink for longer as your group is charging ahead in timed keys, because you can catch up easier.

Re: Priests, the reason this is such a powerful legendary is because how our spells normally work is Circle of healing (with the talent) reduces the cooldown of our next prayer of healing. Flash heal reduces the cooldown of Serenity, Prayer of Healing reduces the cooldown of Sanctify. So basically it adds 2 ADDITIONAL cooldown helpers to our biggest healing Word spells. That in itself is pretty awesome. Then the Holy Fire one pretty much encourages priests to do more dps so that's super helpful in raids and m+. There are alot of mythic + holy priests who don't play aggressively or utilize Always Be Casting so it's a good all around improvement.

Sanctify and Serenity normally have a 1 minute cooldown so when you add extra cooldown helpers it helps us use our most powerful heals more often.

I've tested deeply rooted elements for shaman this week on beta. It's really strong. If you focus your healing on casting riptides, ascendance gives you strong aoe heal every pull with burst afterwards. You don't have to cast most of the time, so you can avoid mechanics and mana doesn't seem to be spent a lot.

You neglected to mention the massive synergy between the double lifebloom lego and the talent Photosynthesis. I think this is the reason why the lego is suggested in M+. Tank throughput on top of faster group heals is pretty sweet.

For shaman you mention that necrolord is the way to go. Even over the Kyrian soul bind that gives a %healing overtime is to nearby allies? That seems to have tons of healing

The covenant ability for Kyrian is relatively bad though. It's radius is too small to effectively heal and damage at the same time and has zero interactions with talents or legendaries. At this point the Necrolord ability (Primordial Wave) synergizes with our best legendary power (Primal Tide Core) and has no range restriction helping with spread healing - what the Shaman's worst at.

@@Kal-hg1hi Yeah, it does not sound bad on paper: healing up to 20% max health when someone drops below 50% every minute. But that's only if you manage to get 20 critical hits per minute and the target and timing can't be controlled. Necrolords "Lead by Example" gives you up to 13% intellect for every cast of Primordial Wave (45s CD with a chance to reset itself, so we are speaking of an uptime around 30%) and will result in much higher HPS overall in comparison. On top of that you get the buff when you need it: after Primordial Wave to increase your next Healing Surge that heals everyone with Riptide and not randomly.

I really don't understand why resto druid wouldn't use circle of life and death. 15% faster hots stacked with photosynthesis talent means 35% faster hots... and it helps with all feral abilities and sunfire/moonfire.

With low haste it's ugly. I tried it briefly a while ago in beta, you hot everyone, shapeshift into cat, one swipe and what do you know, all your hots are already over. Low haste means big GCD, takes you time to rehot your allies. You barely have time to sit in catform and dps since your hots run out so fast. I know on paper it seems great but that's what I saw from my testing. Maybe later into the expansion when you hit +25% haste, this legendary will be better.

It feels a bit odd that you need two different Legendarys right at the Beginning. I think that i will first craft "Memory of the Mother Tree" and at second "The dark Titans Lession" because first one you can use it in both Situations.

It appears we will be able to get the pattern for Dark Titan’s first as the mother tree pattern is in the raid which is not open right away. Depends on how frequently we can make legendaries because there will be two weeks where you cannot get the mother tree pattern.

Shock barrier is buffed by a lot. Now, it's 20% of HS healing and you can have it on 5 targets. They also buffed HS AGAIN and with 200 ilvl I believe shock barrier can absorb about 2.5k every 3s. Relentless inquisitor is also a safe choice but ONLY if you aim for m+ and nothing else. If you're looking at playing a variety of content (raid, m+ and pvp) the safe choice is either shock barrier or infusion of light (even after the trait nerf). Sadly , every other legendary is kinda meh. Maraad's ain't really worth it for m+ because you will hardly hit more than 3 targets with a spell you barely use anyway . Plus, adding an extra gcd usage AND the dmg taken from LotM is kinda too much.

It’s pretty obvious that you didn’t test chains of devastation a lot. T he dmg is nuts. I can average about 2-3k dps throughout an entire dungeon and easily see spikes of 6-8k. And the chain heals...holy cow you can quickly top a group by spamming this

These wowhead guides seem a bit silly without mention of where the legendary is obtained. For example the holy priest one is from a quest to kill the last boss in the raid definitely not something you will be doing in week 2

You can save up soul ash and get the legendary from NM/HM and rank it up to R3/4 for Mythic week.

​@@shawnyofthedead Game is released on the 23rd. NM & HM raid is released on the 8th of december, aswell as Mythic +, Mythic raid will be released on the 15th. Between 11/23 & 12/8 the only content you can do is m0, which is pretty easy. On the raid release date, M+ will open with a probable cap on ilvl you can get, meaning you won't have any interest in doing anything higher than +6ish. You don't need to be fully optimized to deal with this kind of content, and defo don't need the legendaries either, same goes for NM raiding, which is where most people who need raid legendaries will get theirs from. Considering you need 3 weeks of Soul Ash farm (not 100% sure about the numbers, it's either 3 or 4) to get a legendary up to r3, waiting for NM/HM raid opening is the way to go for people who are gonna be doing mythic raiding and pushing keys. Everything that is released before this week is doable without being geared to the teeth.

These feel like pseudo choices just as covenants. Blizzard makes it seem like you have a choice, but since the covenant abilities and legendaries are not balanced out you essentially need to choose a certain covenant over another in order to maximize your efficiency. Also they probably should’ve made the legendaries drop from dungeons and raids. And please bring back tier sets 😢

You mean the same 'efficiency' people are worried about when they invite a resto druid instead of a resto shaman? Attempted a shrine25 key on my WW monk the other day. Lead didn't want to invite the resto shaman in que and instead got the druid. Furthermore, he took a shadow priest and a bm hunter because 'muh dps'. We wiped twice on the 2nd boss due to a missing kick. From an rsham perspective, if some dungeon pull requires Ascendence such that I won't have it for Prideful, Spiritwalker's Tidal Totem might give you the throughput cd you need to heal through that. You gotta utilize the right tool for the job, mate.
