9:39 You mentioned Prizm field, but many people suggest Prizm Trail Torch or dark golf. Is the only difference how dark you want them?
@sportrxeyewear6 ай бұрын
Hi! In a sense, yes. All 3 have a rose base tint enhanced with Prizm tech. Depending whether you're playing in bright daytime, sunrise/ sunset, or overcast/ cloudy conditions, while also considering you're sensitivity to bright light, you may opt for one over another. The VLT ranges for each are as follows: Field- 15% Dark Golf- 22% Trail Torch- 35% Perceived color and contrast enhancement is substantial among each option. Personal preference plays a role as well. Some like more light to pass through the lens despite the lighting conditions (Trail Torch) while others want the more protection from harsh UV (Field), so its ultimately up to the individual but you can't go wrong with any of the 3 options for use in pickleball😎🔥

@@sportrxeyewear Thank you. Can you clarify _"Perceived color and contrast enhancement is substantial among each option._? Are you saying that it is more than just the amount of light being transmitted and that the color/contrast for court lines and the ball might vary as well? Also, you mentioned potential differences for UV protection? I would assume all Prizm lenses regardless of how much light they allow through would filter out nearly 100% of all UVA and UVB.
@sportrxeyewear6 ай бұрын
Yes, each of the Prizm lenses mentioned use a rose base tint which boosts color, definition, and contrast. 100% UV protection applies to each as well, but the VLT (Visible Light Transmission) percentage relates to the amount of light that is able to pass through the lens. While your eyes are protected from damage, those who are more sensitive to bright light will prefer a low vlt rating in order to reduce eyestrain caused by said bright light. This doesn't mean your eyes are subject to damage, its about feeling comfortable and not having to squint if your eyes are subject to light sensitivity.

I wear progressive glasses. Would you recommend progressive lenses, or would you get a lens for farsighted or nearsighted to be able to better focus on a fast-coming ball? Thanks

Great video! I have a question for you. I recently started playing at an indoor facility that has white walls and grey flooring am noticing that I can have difficulty tracking the ball with this color scheme. I have played in other spots with blue walls / floors and this has not happened. Do you have a suggestion for what I can try to correct this?
@sportrxeyewear10 ай бұрын
Great Question! A light Amber, yellow, or rose copper tint combined with AR (Anti Reflective) Coating should make it easier to spot and track the ball in flight. Because it's indoors, a very mild tint is required as you still want enough light to pass through the lens material. what’s ts recommended frame for basketball? How about lens,a use case flexible for indoor and outdoor basketball game for daylight and evening play.
@sportrxeyewear Жыл бұрын
Hey there! For ultimate protection, an 8-base wrapped ANSI rated frame is the way to go. An ASTM or ANSI rated frame indicates that the product meets the standard for impact and shatter resistance. But some players prefer to opt for a non-ANSI or non-ASTM rated frame for stylistic or performance preferences. A great example is the Flak 2.0 XL or SportRx Olsen. Neither comes with a protection rating, though the semi rimless hi-wrap design of each provides less frame obstruction and amazing staying power even during intense workouts and competition. Hey, thanks for the informative and professional video! So I hear that polarized lenses are not good for racquet / paddle ball sports because it hinders depth perception. My question is specifically for the Oakley prizm field, should I get them non-polarized? I play pickelball. Thank you very much!
@sportrxeyewear Жыл бұрын
Hey Jay! The Oakley Prizm Field is arguably the best lens for use in pickleball. It's only offered in non-polarized but that is exactly want for the reasons you specified. You'll notice the difference in contrast and color as soon as you put them on. Great choice! 🔥

@SportRx Alright sweet! I will pick up a pair asap. They will be much better than my polarized Maui Jim with black lenses. Thank you so much, I really appreciate it! 👍🏼

When unactivated, do photochromic lenses have the same light transmission as the clear?
@sportrxeyewear7 ай бұрын
If there's no added base tint, a standard transitions lens will have the same light transmission as a simple clear lens. IF it's an Xtractive transition lens, then it reverts to a 'virtually clear' state with the mildest of tints that you can't really notice unless you look closely. The vlt will be slightly lower for this lens type.
