and I love that you said different colors for nudes for different skin tones thanks
@BeautySplurge12 жыл бұрын
Yes you can;) The crayon are your pigment/wax combo so you can add all types of color form to make your colors. I used orange and white oil pastel crayons today mixed with pink blush and concealer for a semi-matte creme finish nude shade that is similar to my favorite Nars shade in belle de jour:)
@NaomiChan3811 жыл бұрын
I put the mixture into the empty lipstick tube and had hard time to twist the lipstick bullet up the last time I tried to made a lipstick, just wonder if you got the same problem, Lisa? Many thanks :-)

I made different finishes from matte and glaze too. This is just a basic tutorial so it's up to you to expand my recipe like you did. I use them as a base for blush and my eyes =)

You can mix butters. Cocoa would be more solid than the rest because of the high melting point. Coconut oil is sensitive to heat so it will turn into a gloss in humid hot weather if used alone.

You can also use grape seed oil which are available in the skin care and vitamin section of a drugstore. You want the lipstick to be in a semi-solid state. Extending the shelf life is an option so if you don't have it then your lipsticks may be good for 3-5 months to use because we are using vegetable oil that will spoil.
@BeautySplurge12 жыл бұрын
I mentioned it in my haul video recently. I got it done at a salon. Thank you!

just finished the crayon lipstick- it was so quick to make and I could not be happier with the result! its gorgeous and unbelievably easy and cheap!!!!! thank you SO SO much I will do this forever :) it saves so much money especially for like halloween where you would want like a green lipstick for a costume but dont want to spend 8 dollars on a on time thing! :)
@BeautySplurge12 жыл бұрын
You can use either one and/or both since the both are pigments with wax. The oil pastel crayons melts quicker and you can use less oil. Make sure it is non-toxic for it to be lip safe to use.

You can find vitamin e oil at any drugstore and grocery store that carry vitamins in the supplement aisle. They are usually alphabetized and they can come in capsules to so you can pierce them to get the oil out. You don't have to use vitamin e oil because it's an option to extend the storage life of your lipstick. Lipstick without a natural preservative is probably good for 3 months.

I had a few lately that watch this tutorial and used the same method to fix their lipstick . You can melt all of the lipstick and let it cool down enough that it thickens as you pour it back into the tube. Just make sure that the lipstick cool down before pouring it back in the tube and refrigerate until it harden just like this video.

I'm a makeup artist so they will get a lot of uses;) To make the basic lipstick recipe, you need coconut oil, a carrier oil, color, and wax or crayons/oil pastels. You will have a lot left over with your supplies to make so many and use them in your beauty care so it's cheap and cost you less than a dollar to make a few lipsticks.

Then add more crayon by remelting your batch. Each crayon quality and brand will be different. My favorite are oil pastels because they are opaque and don't require a lot of oil.

Hi Lisa , for crayon lipstick , do you use crayola or oil pastel kind ?( are they safe to use on lip , especially when your lip is dry and tend to lick it ) And can I use Vaseline hydrating jelly instead of coconut oil ?

Dunno if this helps but I played around with the recipe and used coconut oil. I think something that doesn't turn solid (olive oil or canola or vegetable) is best to avoid unless you want a liquidy consistency. If you do use a liquid oil, perhaps add more wax, that way it turns out more solid :)

This is soooooo fab! Can I use scented candle melts? I have some Jamie Claire signature scented candle wax melts..... And maybe they'll also serve as flavoring. Speaking of flavor, what were you using? I really want a Mac vanilla taste to it. If I'm rambling, sorry well here's a quick beauty tip: Adding eyeshadow to a lotion creates shimmery eyeshadow, providing that you use as little as possible and use (obviously) a shimmery eyeshadow. Paws Up!!! :)
