LTO cells are where its at 20 years life rate, 20.000-60.000+ cycles, can charge at -40c, XS power also sells some rated for under hood placement and best part is they will never start a fire
@GloweIndustries
@GloweIndustries Жыл бұрын
LifePo4 will also never start a fire. Problems with lto? 1. Much less energy dense than LFP 2. Nowhere near as much development into the tech. I have 20ah lfp cells now that can hold over 700a. (Check the S3 video) 3. Higher voltage requirements. My BMW will throw error codes if I charge at 15.5v. At 15.8v I’m likely cooking electronics. 4. Higher voltage req = mandatory alternator mods/replacement. My LFP cells are rated down to -40c charging and -43c discharge so these aren’t characteristics unique to lto anymore. To be specific, S3 = -43c discharge -40c charging. S2 = -43c discharge -20c charging. I do like scibs - those are some wild cells. But the conversion to lto has many more steps than hooking up a battery and calling it a day.

I have questions. I’ve been looking at lithium, about to get a superbeast headway bundle, but ran across your videos a moment ago. I saw “stock alt/charging system up to a 12k amp” or something similar. My car came with a stock alt that was 70A. That’s tiny. And wouldn’t the current draw of the amp be what’s measured and not what the amp is rated? I have an Orion 3000.1DHCCAsplx if ran @.5 ohm it pulls well over 1000A of current, making a little over 13,200 watts. (Rated at 3K) (.5 ohm burp only) I have a 325A HO alt, 3 runs of Sky High 4/0 XL OFC positive and ground wire, and currently have AGM batteries, and know I’d be much happier with lithium.

Hey, happy to answer questions. The supported amplifier wattage is based on the maximum amount of amperage pulled by the taramps line of amps on music at that wattage. So for 12k support, we’d pull up an md8k and see the maximum in amperage consumption on music. I’ve found the amperage draw they state in line with real world usage (as demonstrated in our testing on an amp rated for 8k).

I wonder how $300 worth of lishen would hold up compared to $300 worth of the new s1’s
@GloweIndustries
@GloweIndustries 2 жыл бұрын
I break it down for you at the end. It's actually pretty close. With Lishen, you'll end up at about .94 amps of output per dollar spent. The GVS1 is an even 1 amp for $1. The larger difference between the two.. Is that you'll have around double the storage capacity with the S1 vs Lishen when built to equal output. Another big difference is the cost of busing that many smaller cells together. It's far easier to bus just 4 cells than it is doing a 4s6p (what it would take in Lishen) to match. Busing is included in the cost of the cells you purchase from us.

Yes I'm seriously thinking about buying one of these GV-S1 or maybe even two but I'm trying to understand more about them I watch the youtube video about these batteries and he's basically saying that you can delete your stock battery and use this to power your car and your system all by itself up to 8000 Watts RMS but I'm wondering is that on like just a demo or is that daily driver listening I'm trying to find some kind of a power source to put in my car to power a high output system 8 or 10000 Watts with my stock alternator because my car cannot take a high output alternator so I'm limited to the battery also because of the stock alternator I can't use LTO properly so this battery chemistry is my best option I just don't know how much I need for high output daily driver listening can you help me out

Each of the cells comes with busing, yes. You charge these exactly like a headway, they’re the same chemistry! If you’re familiar with headways you should have no issues with the S1 at all. The best thing is given that they’re so much more powerful in smaller configurations, far less busing is needed overall.

This is where I’m at…Glowe batteries are at $499. Did the math tonight…I can build my own 51ah lishen bank for $489 that would most definitely give the glowe batteries a run for their money if not outperform then detrimentally. Don’t get me wrong, you have a nice product and I’m not hating…I’m also not factoring in the time, knowledge, convenience, etc to buy something pre made that I can just drop in my car. With that being said, it may not be good for business but I would love to see some more testing on these chemistries of lithium in banks that are around the same price point. Just feel like this isn’t the best comparison considering you used… for example…8.5ah of lishen cells that only costs $50 up against your own product that costs 10x that.
@GloweIndustries

That is why at the end of the video I break it down by.. How much it costs per amp of output - to level the playing field. Lishen are good cells, btw. We just got some in that we plan to begin selling on our website, soon. Is the cost you calculated including busing? Lishen are $54 + shipping for four.. about $60ish after shipping. To get a 51ah bank, you would need 24 lishen. (4S6P). That's around $360 for just the cells. Ill Customz bussing costs $160 for that configuration. Now you're at $520. Did you calculate for things like.. epoxy sheets to separate cells? The cost of the actual nuts? How will you mount a raw bank like that? Are you buying a battery box, or making one?

I dont have a dog in this fight down below. I'm just researching lithium cells for a system I'm building. I already have some AGMs I'm using up front in my truck which is a diesel. I'm putting in some 18s on an 8k. Was looking at some Spim cells. Looked at those headway posted here. The rating on them is 5C continous 15c max constant and 30c max burst. They are also $5.50 each right now on battery hookup. Spim cells are $8.50 but provide better capabilities for amp draw but voltages are higher and need diodes for the alternator. Looking at a fairly large bank of say 90AH range with a 320mechman. I don't think the AGMs will work with the spim cells?? Not sure how my truck with the electronics and the glow plugs like 15+ volts.

25% of the way into this battery, and not one mention of C-rate. Are you going to test all of these cells at a 4C rate? Let's find out. Nope, completely useless test, demonstrating either ignorance or a disingenous goal of making the cells you're schlepping look better. Sorry, but you either need to compare apples-to-apples (similar AH capacity) or do a similar C-rate test. This was a 50-minute waste of my time.
@GloweIndustries
@GloweIndustries Жыл бұрын
What are you talking about? C rate is pointless for car audio purposes. Take headway, which are “25c”. At 25c they’re also like 2.4 volts which is pointless information if you need to stay above 12v. Further you say I did some kind of fraudulent testing. Tell me exactly what I did. I tested each cell type and figured out exactly how much power they could give without dropping below 12 volts. I then took that result (amps provided above 12v) and factored it with the cells cost to get my results. If you can’t follow along that doesn’t mean the test is flawed. Besides, we are better off without customers who think 200/8 = 15.

Are you comparing the cost of a used battery to a new battery? New headways are $12.50 - $15.00.
@GloweIndustries
@GloweIndustries 2 жыл бұрын
To get 300a sustained from a headway bank you're going to need a 4s8p (64ah) bank. That's 32 cells. Even at used prices you're at $160. (That's before shipping. After shipping ordering 20 used headways costs about $120/$6 per cell). Now you're closer to $180. Now, show me the least expensive busing that will actually carry 300a for headway? You're at $300 and have used, very poorly balanced (in general - I'm making a video on this soon on why people should stop buying used headways) cells, vs a new 6,000 cycle cell that runs circles around headway. Busing is included with our cells. In addition, don't forget that these cells will take up under half the space when compared to the 64ah headway bank, AND you'll still have 26 more amp hours of capacity. More in reality, I've had used headways test as low as 6ah of useable capacity remaining.

Please be careful. The video I'm doing with headways is using one of those PCB style boards... It's not great man. Did you know 2oz copper (what the new "1,000" amp version is) is only 70 MICRONS thick? Do you know the formula for busing when figuring out amperage required? It's the width of copper in mm * the depth in mm* 1.2 (copper modifier). So a copper bus bar that was 50mm (2") wide would need to be 6mm thick to rate for 300a of continuous current. I'm not knocking headways, they'll treat you well. There's a reason they've been the defacto since 2017. We're just here to change that.
