My skin used to be oily so I have the big pores but my skin has become more combination to dry as I've gotten older. My go to for years was Estee lauder double wear. Loved it once I figured out how to prep my skin and blend it in. Now I feel the hydra rescue looks better on my skin. Love both of these foundations! I now want to check out your primer choices for the pores since the Hydra rescue show my pores a little more than the double wear did.

You look absolutely gorgeous! Love the glam. I totally get having a couple different foundations/powder/priming base options. I tend to be combo skin but because of tretinoin, I sometimes get a dry forehead or dry cheeks and being able to play with or/and combine different formulas is key if I need to wear makeup for a long period of time. I have drier skin these days…I’m not really even sure when it changed. I used to be very oily in my teens/20s/30s and even into my 40s. I’m 53 now and would describe my skin as combo/dry but I love your videos so much that I’m definitely watching anyway. Not to mention that I might learn a thing or two. I use some of the primers and foundations you mentioned because I do have large pores. Very large actually. Thank you for all the information you share.

Loved this Risa! My primer go tos are the Wet n Wild Impossible, and the Elf Matte Putty Primer in the t zone. Such a great combo! I go between the Cover Girl Outlast Extreme Wear foundation and the Loreal Infallible 24 hour. My favorite powder is the Photo Focus loose powder from Wet n Wild. I agree with you with the observation of the Laura Mercier. I have a normal skin type and 40 younger and have never liked it under my eyes. Am a makeupartist and thought that something was wrong with my opinion and taste because I did fell over hills with the powder. Thank you for that.

Covergirl is awesome! I've used it for years and it lasts all day on me. I use the Simply Ageless with Olay. They are in the liquid and in the cream form. I love them both and they never let me down. I love the Coty loose powder! I've used it for so many years I don't think about the scent anymore. Lol

Every time you mention something worked great on you or your go to product, it does the same on me, i trust your advice for that, maybe we have the same skin type who knows😃 maybe you can make another video like this one for oily skin and include blush concealer and bronzer, i feel those are the first to go on me, i always end up with my foundation only, which is Estee lauder😊

I have oily skin and I do love the heck out of MAC SFF. But lately I want a much lighter coverage and I’ve been enjoying the shiseido synchro skin tint. The Pat McGrath foundation is also somewhat lighter covg and good for oily skin in my experience too. You’re right; it’s really hard to find lighter coverage that is oily skin friendly!

Blessing and curse is so true. When you pass 70, as I have, it is all blessing. Almost no wrinkles and I don't have to bankrupt myself to fight dryness. I use EL and never powder anything.

I love the Hourglass Mineral Primer, keeps my foundation fresh all day and in place along with the Estee Doublewear. In the Winter I tend to wear Nars. Great video...we all need to share your videos and get your viewership up to 1million viewers on U tube.

I have combo skin with oily T zone in cooler months and just oily in the summer and have experienced the joy of oxidizing foundation and enough shine to light up an interstate off ramp. You’re so right that it’s hard to find products that work, especially when you prefer light coverage. I’ve found a couple, including Cle de Peau matte and Sisley, both of which are expensive, but provide light to medium coverage, especially when applied with a damp sponge. More recently, I purchased a cushion foundation from EM Cosmetics, which is moderately priced, provides good coverage and has SPF 50. It requires freshening after about 6-7 hours, but because it’s a compact, that’s not a problem. I also like the Tatcha sunscreen, which serves really well as a primer for liquid foundations. Other primers, including a couple on your list, break down around my nose or have irritated my skin. Charlotte Tilbury’s compact powder, which is very finely milled, also works for me as a setting or finishing powder. And, although bronzer wasn’t mentioned in your video, I’ve had very good luck with Guerlain bronzers or darker shade powders as well as the Hoola bronzers. They don’t oxidize and, like the CT powder, a little goes a long way. Thanks very much for this video, which was so very helpful.

I have very oily skin and the L’Oréal True Match Tinted Serum is a light coverage that lasts all day for me! And I even live in a very humid Louisiana. So that could be a light coverage option for some.

This video was amazing!!! I actually love the StudioFix but could never find the right color for my skin. I used to only use MAC. I now use the ELDW. It’s my holy grail. I’m dying to try the One Size. And I agree on the powders. Huda is the only powder I found (after trying tons!) that doesn’t make my undereye look dry!!!! I’m almost 44 and the struggle is real! Risa. Oh. My. Lanta!!! Thank you soooo much for this video!! On your recommendation, I decided to take a trip over to Sephora for a new foundation. I have been so frustrated because I have been trying (and failing) to find a foundation that works for me for so long! I have so many that are just ok but have never wowed me. After listening to your descriptions I decided that Teint Idole would probably work. So when I got there a really nice woman waited on me. She was so helpful. I told her I was as interested in trying Teint Idole but I needed help with a shade match. As we were going through it she asked me if I had ever tried Double Wear. I said no but I was thinking about trying that too but I was concerned that it might be too heavy. She said You might be surprised. So we found a good shade match for the Teint Idole and I was pretty happy with it. Then she said 'Ok,is it ok if I put some Double Wear on you?' I gave her the go ahead and can I just say I was blown away!?! It just disappeared right into my skin!!! I am in love!! I was so shocked. I thought it was going to be thick and heavy and it is not at all!! It is the most beautiful foundation I've ever worn. I should have listened to you a long time ago! Thanks Risa!!

I LOVE the O/S balm, it really is good. A lot of O/S products work for me, the balm, the concealer, and loose powder. I have the powder foundation, but not the correct shade. I really want to try it as a setting or finishing powder. I have the primer and I like it, but it doesn’t beat the Joah primer (a true gem) or the L’Oreal in my opinion. I agree with using powder puffs, it makes a big difference. Will you be reviewing the new Estée Lauder Double Wear loose powder? I hope so. I think it’s a finishing powder, but I’d love to see how it works on oily skin for people over 40.

Hmm. Food for thought! Currently using elf putty primer, but it's not a HG. Having trouble finding the L'Oreal. Heard good things about a product from Shein, but I haven't tracked it down. Used to adore the Stila, but my skin has changed. Foundations. Always a problem for me. I am fair skinned - like Twilight, or "Are you sick? You look a little pale," sort of fair skinned. Many, many lines don't have a light enough shade for me. The CG Outlast does, but I find it to be a bit dewy for me; a HG primer might help. I really like the Revlon Colorstay, but it's too dark. I have tried mixing it with the CG, and that's a winner. EL is a classic for a reason, and goes light enough for me. Powders. Well, being a decade or so more seasoned than you, I remember when ALL makeup was scented. CG smelled like Noxzema, and lots of florals or candy scents were available. Almay came along, and smelled like ... chemicals. It was not unscented, it was unperfumed. I like the Coty, but I miss the shade range they used to have. They also had a fab liquid foundation in the 80s. No 7 Boots has a compact I like, and I mix the W&W with Coty to lighten it. Somebody has a powder that runs way too light?! I hear my name! I love the Lancome teint idole foundation and the Nars soft matte when i need long wear on my oily combo skin, Huda beauty powder is brilliant and Nikkia Joy powder is amazing. Great video Risa

@Risa Does Makeup i've started mixing the new Nars light reflecting foundation with the soft matte so that its not to heavy and it moves better on the skin, its a beautiful finish.
