I became a fan of Red House Painters in the mid 90's. That lead to being a fan of Sun Kil Moon, until Kozelek just became a full-on, spiteful Sociopath. It's sad to watch this guy's deteriorating mental health. Jesus...what the F*CK happened to this guy?? He hates his fans as he keeps telling us in his songs. He hates pretty much everybody nowadays. He obviously hates women as he either talks sh*t about them or is accused of sexually-assaulting them. What an ugly legacy this guy is going to leave the world. So sad to see a once great songwriter just piss his career away. I can't even enjoy his older stuff as much these days, thinking what a miserable curmudgeon he's become. It didn't have to be this way. His music is completely self-serving now. F*ck the fans! ...oh, and as for The War on Drugs being "the whitest band I've ever heard", I think most can agree that Kozelek's music is geared towards a 99.9% Caucasian audience and sensibilty. Not a lot of Soul in his music. There USED to be a lot of Heart, but that's obviously over.
