This was one of the best reviews I’ve seen for mattress toppers. Having had back surgery a few backs, my matress and topper are needing replaced. I purchased the serta 2-inch perfectsleeper feather & down fiber top yesterday. It came in as air-sealed bag. There were no instruction on how to fluff or maintain. Mine does not look like the picture. The sections do not seem to be holding the feather & down separately. Hopefully it is going to fluff out to be thicker as the picture presents!

If I sink to the bottom of a 6 inch foam mattress would putting a firm topper UNDER the mattress prevent the sinking? What firm toppers would you recommend that could accomplish this? Can I buy firmer support base layers separate from mattresses? If so how firm and how thick?

I would love to try the tempur pedic topper. Ive had a mattress from them for 16 years, it’s been a life saver. Now, it’s starting to lose its support. If the topper is as good as the mattress it’s worth every pretty penny. It might extend the mattress life too.

Why is the emphasis always on "softening up" an existing mattress? I want something to firm up a sagging mattress, surely that's a more common problem?

Put a wood plank underneath, between the box spring and mattress. It helps with sagging. Bob and Brad- physical therapists on youtube recommended that if you're on a tight budget. There are no toppers to firm up a sagging mattress.

none, you are supposed to do it the other way around buy a firm mattress and then if necessary compensate it with a mid firm/soft topper otherwise youre cooked😂
