I did notice in my recording that driving clean in cooldown had a dramatically lower cop spawn. i did tests where i bashed into objects in cool down and dispatch would frequently radio, although it's not guaranteed. glad you enjoyed.

0:51 To make this even worse: GTA IV had a $100 million budget and Watch Dogs 1 had a $68 million budget, both games are open world games with amazing voice acting, top tier world building for GTA IV, great world building for WD1 and really detailed open worlds that are pretty large with no useless spaces. While NFS 2015 is a racing game with tiny amount of drivable roads (compared to what the world map would lead you to believe) and most of the budget being spent on licensed parts (and car+song licensing, obviously). Also, they should have called Ventura Bay "Metrocity".

4:32, what he said is true, I once tried to cruise around the city in a 4 heat car, if I obey the speed limit and not destroy anything in my path the police rarely spawns, but if I cause an accident or destroy props on the road I'll hear police on the radio then they will 100% spawn next or near me.

That is true. Though i don't think the game give a damn about you speeding. So as long as you don't hit anything you're good.

It actually happens like that. I think it's tied to the infractions the game has, so as long you don't commit any of those you're not in trouble More interesting, if you somehow manage to drive slow enough next to a cop they don't start a chase at all

@@senorlechuga8832 Only if the police scanner radio says they don't have a good description of you. If they say "suspect is a xyz", even driving below the speed limit won't save you. Little details like this gives a LOT of weight to the game.

Yeah and sometimes, it will also make it so that the cops will spot you if they get a car description. Though I think once you're at heat 5, being seen at all is an instant pursuit.

I swear there is a voiceline for hitting a bunch of signs around the campus (you know, where you beat Sonny) when the cops were on cooldown and i was so freaked out when I heard that. Dont know if that spawns more cops around me but the game sure does take notice

I remember clearly that the police in the challenge series tollbooth events do actually activate way earlier than usual and spawn way more often when I start hitting traffic and signs and lights or whatever. It is a real mechanic I believe

I mean even in nfs carbon on the psp you heard the cops on the radio talking about signs you smashed in rural areas and sent a patrol to check... I remember driving in the city hitting things and then waiting for the cop car to spot me and start a chase

Police does gets called if you crash into any public object or if you speed enough and close by the AI vehicle. Althou, it can only happen if you just entered the world or finished the race,but it won't happen if you've just escaped the pursuit since there is some sort of cooldown period.

Hard to account for confirmation bias here, but I'm 90% positive that hitting signs and traffic does make the cops spawn on top of you. Its as if the game is programmed to have traffic call 911 on a reckless driver near your position. I say this with great confidence because I have memories of cruising at Heat 5 and only getting the usual lone Corvette patrolling the area, but if I'm being a naughty boy then a squad will form up and try to find me in the map. But agane, who knows! Maybe confimation bias working its magic

Oh Kuru. If you & everyone here was wondering what Mia meant at the first race with Razor. "Wait until he shifts first." , means, because of how difficult it is to launch a powerful Rear Wheel Drive car. If you haven't practiced & memorized the amount of throttle, RPMs, and the top-speed of 1st-gear. Then you're just going to be doing a rolling burnout, wasting time, energy, and tires. And even if you are perfect at launching, and mastering the grip of your rear tires, to accelerate as quick as possible with little to no slip. If you are launching from a startline with a rival car just as strong as yours. Unless you have an ignition or sparkcut quickshifter system, like a high-end sportbike, for open throttle t-shirts without disengaging the clutch. Then shifting gears with the clutch, will cause a major delay in your acceleration. Even more so if you have H-pattern instead of a sequential shifter, and don't have a short-throw shifter linkage on top of that. This is how some Elecric Vehicles like performance Teslas, are so unbeatable launching from a dig (dead stop). They don't need a multi-speed transmission. Electric motors, with their instant torque, can seamlessly accelerate from a dig, all the way up to when the back EMF inside them, starts limiting their torque, rate of acceleration and top speed. But engines can't do that. They have a minimum speed, below which their power really bogs down, or the engine just stalls. This is why engines need multiple gear ratios to get the most out of them, with their limited useful RPM range. Electric motors accelerate smoothly, but engines that don't use a fragile CVT, accelerate in steps, because of shifting between strong gears, that each exchange torque for more RPMs, so you can go faster, with the same limited engine speed. ....And if someone, just as strong as you, was to launch with you, but bounce off the rev-limiter a second or 2, waiting for you to shift. Then the acceleration delay of you shifting from 1st to 2nd, could be enough for them to get ahead of you a decent amount. Maybe enough to even get ahead of and block you, while you're struggling with the traction issues of launching out of 1st gear. All this is what Mia meant, when she tells you, as the player, to wait for Razor to shift first. She's giving you a tip, that may help you get ahead of him, immediately. _________________ Oh! And I have my own tip. I learned this by myself. When ramming a roadblock, tap your brakes just before impact, to transfer weight forward on the suspension. This will help keep your noise down after the hit, so it dosen't pop you into the air, and make you vulnerable. And just like with real life, when ramming through carjackers (or cops). Aim for the side of the tail, to make it easier to punch through. Because the engine weight upfront, will make the nose harder to move. This is true with Heat Levels 1 to 3, and I think SUVs. But Corvettes are 50:50 weight distribution, so in game, you can hit any part of their side. Hiting their door area, will flip them over you. Hitting their ends will spin them so much, they may hit your side. And something really messed up. ...If you catch a traffic car stopped at a roadblock. Ramming the civilian into the roadblock, somehow amplifies the devistation on the roadblock. And as always, avoid hitting any road block cop car who's side is not presented to you. Choppers too. For some reason, they're very unmovable in that orientation.

I do remember vividly once I escaped a pursuit, and as I was driving away I hit literally every car and sign by accident. I stopped the car from embarrasment and one of the police said in the radio "I'm following a trail of destruction, this might be our guy". I did a couple of donuts and police got there in like 10 seconds. I don't know if it's true either, but by now I'm willing to bet a little bit of money on it being true.

Hitting cars will make the radio girl notify the near cop about your discription then a cop will spawn within a few yards infront of you. You can check if cop spawned by listening to the radio

I think hitting road signs and/or traffic lights actually alert the cops and makes them spawn closer to your location, had that happen quite a few times

It does I had to test it to record some of the lines if you spawn out the garage the first thing you hit will trigger a call from my experience.

I am %100 positive that the NPCs report you for going past the speed limit. Hitting objects is also one of the other reasons that the cops spawn. I'm pretty sure that I heard at least 10 variations for each of these reports. Then there's Ghost Games / Criterion with their games.

Hitting a sign doesnt make cops spawn, but it adds up to cost to state which then has a threshold that calls 911 on you. But there are other thresholds as well like hitting traffic cars or just a timer.
