Saws All is my go to for most everything needing cutting. Fine tooth and viola.
@paulcoenen7918 Жыл бұрын
They are very slow compared to a cutting disc, also the disc can be much more practical for smaller items like valves and door handles etc.
@vincedibona4687 Жыл бұрын
The disc does have greater limitations re: reach. I can cut a tire off it’s bead on the rim with the Sawzall. Usually candy with a 4-1/2” cutting disc.

Hey bud, this is actually the first time I'm ever commenting on anybody's KZbin. Despite my prior beliefs on scrapping, your videos are quite helpful. I recommend you buy yourself a porta band. The bands last forever as long as you are responsible and using it for its intended use. You get a bigger range of cut limiting how often you readjust what you're cutting on your vice, making it faster! It cuts absolutely everything and does it well, and I've found it to be faster than the grinder, torch, karate chops, and sawzalls, even at slower speeds. Mine has a light built in, helpful and safer, limits need for as much PPE, (AGAIN, AS LNG AS YOU ARE BEING RESPONSIBLE), and safe! You have to really be trying to hurt yourself with that sucker. I bet it pays for itself after two or three jobs. I use a plug in DeWalt, 22 inch. Happy hunting my friend

You need to have Tenacious D's Metal song in your introductions for your videos. Or at the very least every time you find The Metal. 😅 I think of that song every time you say the word. Love your stuff man. Keep doing the thing brother 👍

can you do another video but for cutting metal, specifically sealed units I feel like that would be a interesting test
@thubprint Жыл бұрын
You mean comparing discs to cut open the steel cases? I’d be more than happy to but I’d have to take a different approach, like compare more than just cutoff wheels. If it’s just comparing performance of discs against steel it would feel too similar to popular videos that already exist

If you use a skill saw you need to flip the blade backwards and it will work to cut certain metals obviously not heavy metal but should work for copper without catching

Next up: take your two winners here and see how well they hold up against a lot of motors. If the diamond lasts 3x+ as long, well there's your final answer. I've been buying cheapo alumina oxide but seems like lennox is actually a better value.
@1972Russianwolf11 ай бұрын
AND THE WINNER IS>>>>>............. the Machete. No dust. Takes me about 2 minutes with either a a small sledge or a 10 ton press. My $30 from HD machete has more damage to the back of the blade than to the cutting edge.

80 cents?!?!? The cheapest we get here are the Gator-branded ones, they are $3 each out the door - and those suckers will fly apart on ya if a guy isn’t careful! I might have to try an expensive metal blade with diamond-coated tips, as I’ve had two of those other discs fly apart on me, luckily I never got hurt by either one. FTR, I also cut a bit of steel with mine as my scrapyard has to have #1 prepared be less than 4 feet (1.3 meters) long so anything like thicker long bars or even bed frames have to be zanged up a bit.
@thubprint Жыл бұрын
My yard is the same for the prepared, it’s gotta be the right size and everything. I can find the blades pretty cheap sometimes because they sell 50-packs at Canadian tire and it’s one of the products that goes on half off sale at least once a month
@williamralph8613 Жыл бұрын
Say thin blades are best ❤
@Swishersweetcigarilo Жыл бұрын
Those diamond lenox blades are terrible on all materials, especially for the price. I think theyre 20 dollars each disc. Luckily i got a 5 pack for free. They cut really slow and the diamond coating wears out fast on the edge. Only benefit i see with them is less dust and and if youre cutting something at a strange angle you dont have to worry about the disc exploding and hurting you. Id go with silicon carbide for non ferrous metals or whatever is marketed for masonry work.
@thubprint Жыл бұрын
I was so excited for the Lenox and it just didn’t perform nearly well enough to cost that much! Sadly I went to grab an affiliate link for the ezarc and the 2-pack was nowhere to be found, just a single for the same price as the Lenox. So I suppose it’s just the cheap abrasives for me from now on
