Use a sprayer it won’t look so uneven where you hadn’t applied it. 😊 and I’ve even diluted mine. But thank you for the myth busting on all the others!!
@DonziGT230 Жыл бұрын
If used with a sprayer as recommended you could probably keep from having such a dramatic difference between the clean and dirty areas by applying it heavily to the rust and 'feathering' the spray around the rust so that it blends in better. Another option, pressure washing the rest of the area should clean it all to match. I've done the latter a few times and while the de-rusted spot is often a little cleaner, it doesn't stand out much.

Or, she could use her sprayer and apply it to the whole driveway....

The active ingredient in this product is hydrogen fluoride. I had impossible rust stains on my driveway and bought oxalic acid. It is economical because it’s a powder and you simply dilute it with water. Spay from a hand sprayer and don’t bother with scrubbing. Rinse and it’s done. Got a small box at my local hardware store
@angelaboheme73612 ай бұрын
Thank you so much - both of you! Wow, hydrogen fluoride is a very toxic gas.... so better use a proper mask?! Or avoid it and better use Oxalic acid as said above (or try rhubarb leaves, Sorrel (Rumex acetosa) or Portulaca oleracea.

EZ way to clean off LARGE concrete area's...like the concrete around the below ground pool when you remove the cover in the Spring..... Outdoor Clorox !!!!!!!!!! Available @ Costco !! Cheap.... 1) LIGHTLE spray the concrete down with water. 2) Mix one (1) gallon....with four (4) gallons water. 3) Spread /pour the mix around with a small container. 4) Push the mix around with a large push broom. 5) Let the concrete " cook " in the sun. 6) Rinse down with water about eight (8) hours later. THIS WORKS !!!! I do it EVERY year !!!

I just tried this exact same product on fresh rust stains I had this winter from a utility trailer on my new concrete driveway and it did absolutely NOTHING 😢. I even let it soak super long and did multiple applications.
@ryanphillips35336 ай бұрын
It just depends on what kind of rust and what caused that particular rust to begin with when choosing the right product. The goof off remover is basically for water based rust caused by iron in the water. It will not bring metal caused rust like from equipment, tools, parts, etc.
@SimplyJoyful4 жыл бұрын
I bet that is why they want you to use a spray tank.. even application all over the concrete ;) Will look like new ;) Thanks for testing thee product!

I had this exact problem with one of those cement table and benches one time. I tried everything! Then a few years later I had some cement guys pour a slab in backyard for me and I asked them about it and they said the cement mixture itself has iron in it and eventually it will leach up to the surface, and you could maybe get some stain off, but in time they would come back. Also when you fertilize your yard with granules, that has iron in it and if you dont wash it off the driveway and sidewalk into the grass it will make little rust spots on it.

Ok I used the goof off rust aid on a difficult job. I kept a metal can on my concrete stoop for over a year to hold up a bird feeder. Guess what ? It rusted out the bottom like nobody’s business. Formed a nice crusty rust circle that became bright orange. I got it off with a secret ingredient. Elbow grease and a wire brush. Apply product-brush like a maniac-wait a minute for it to absorb in and repeat. It wouldn’t have come off just by pouring some on and waiting. The product worked well at a favorable price.

@donteven57123 жыл бұрын
That’s not mold. That’s mildew. And bleach would get rid of it around bathtub. If it’s pink, it’s not mold. It’s bacteria. And you are going to have to scrub it off using basic detergents and a brush. Best thing to do for the bedroom, is take the mattress somewhere where you can spray it down and let it dry completetly

That doesn't work. I bought a home with a rusty driveway. Pressure washing did remove about 1/3 of the "surface" rust, but the rest is embedded and won't come out. I would need to be "reformed".
