@jamespearson38744 жыл бұрын
Yeah Jeff I bought that $28 Singerman product and it did diddley after multiple applications and even leaving it for an hour. Maybe you got a concentrated jug . Mine was not.
@jeffostroff4 жыл бұрын
@@jamespearson3874 No they are all the same. The Singerman comes in a small white tub, and you mix the crystals with water to forma jug. so there is no way mine was any more concentrated than yours. Are you sure you bought the actual Singerman product? White tub, with green label. It should work, it has worked on everything we tried it on. Also, if mixed correctly, the product works in about 3 minutes, and they tell you to rinse it off before 15 minutes or it will stain the concrete. So leaving it on an hour will accomplish nothing. So question is, are we sure it was rust you were applying it on, and not something else? I'd love to see a video of this in action if you can post one on your channel and send us the link to t.

When it comes to the Goof Off, I can tell you I have hard water rust stains on my sidewalks and driveway that it turned absolutely white. Worked better then I could have imagined. I’m sure there is a difference in rust, but mine was pretty bad. To be honest it took a couple applications (2). That worked the best, CLR did nothing and I have never had luck with that product literally on anything. I just sprayed the Goof Off on and in minutes it cleaned it. Just my experience.

I had some serious rust stains on porous pavers from iron fittings dripping from my faucet & from fertilizer dripping through an above ground planter on my lanai. I just realized I had a container of Zep on my shelf I bought about 15 years ago & gave it a try. In just one application (50/50 mix) it totally removed any trace of stains on all my pavers. I was ready to buy new pavers & replace them all. I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again.

Sometimes it depends on the rust type, but you can see here Zep had not much impact on the rust.

Baking soda works as a base and therefore neutralizes the acid in the vinegar rendering both combined useless for cleaning. You're better using either stand-alone vinegar for its acidic property or a water and baking soda mixture for its abrasive property. Again, together you're creating a mixture that could have been done with water, but it does create CO2 if that can be used for anything. It will put out a fire but baking soda can also do that as a stand-alone. Just throw it in a fire to douse it.
@vasi00112 жыл бұрын
He never rinsed it off either. If you don't rinse it off afterward, it will look like this. I just tried white vinegar on my concrete driveway on a rust spot, and after I rinsed it off (after about an hour) it looks great. He didn't rinse off any of the products on the video, so no wonder the results were so bad on all of them.

Based on seeing this video a year ago, I finally got the Singerman stuff and used it. Man did it work! This video isn't trickery, the Singerman did exactly what the video shows. And I have a whitish concrete driveway that had radiator rust spots on it from a leaky car, and these were thick and very orange... very hard to get out - I tried a lot of stuff and it barely made a dent. The Singerman cut right through it! Amazing, thank you for the tip! A few other comments: - The directions are very good and clear. They did say that there should be a decent layer of gel on top - if you try to spread it out too thin, it's not quite as good. I found this to be true... leave enough on to cover the "highest" points surrounding the pores of your concrete (like 1/8", not much). The stuff I just lightly coated on came off a little less. I assume the layer is to give the chemical enough room to work and mix in with the rust. Whatever, it was great. - You'll know it worked when most of the rust turns from red to green. If so, it simply hoses off... amazing! You can also scrub the toughest areas, but it only helped a little. - They say it loses half its strength after 15 minutes, but not to let it dry completely. However, it dries pretty slowly - over an hour if applied correctly. The first batch I let on for 15 mins. and all but the worst, thickest rust came out. I did a second batch over a similar rust spot and let it sit for over an hour. In this case it came off 100%. So you might let it sit at least 30 mins. for the worst stains. Anyway thanks, this is a GREAT product!

SIDE NOTE: Baking soda is a base and vinegar is an acid. The distilled vinegar will get the job done with more soaking time, but the baking soda neutralized its pH rendering it ineffective. Mixing these two only results in making Chlorine gas and salt water.

Baking Soda, its only use in these internet home remedies is as a aggregate for polishing. However they all failed 3rd grade science class and they add it to the peroxide or vinegar there by neutralizing the properties of the other material component. Vinegar works fine, especially the cleaning vinegar but you have to be very careful with concrete, especially if the concrete or vinegar is hot. I once used cleaning vinegar to clean and flush an old waterheater. During the flush a puddle of vinegar got on the concrete, even though I immediately neutralized it within 30 seconds with baking soda and got it up with lots of water and a shop-vac, the previously smooth concrete was rough and pitted.
