The first thing you do is get comfortable and get ur stinger and give a couple of cold movements on the pipe meaning with the welder off run ur rod up to see if ur comfortable. You can get c- clamps and clamp it on the pipe to rest ur elbow. Do what you think is best for you to run that 7018. Always remember we all weld different. It’s like we all screw different get it. ✌🏼

It happens when your amperage is too low and to much wire is pushed in to the puddle. Increase your amperage.
