You kept saying 1/8" filler, but your filler looks smaller than tungsten. Guessing 1/16" filler? Would have liked a little more discussion on actual welding technique... assume keeping the arc down on the tube, dab, and then washing the puddle up on the bung? Liking the channel so far. Agree with ditching the music, especially when you are talking

I am using 1/16 there. I do use 1/8th sometimes but I miss spoke about what I was using at the time. Yes, that’s pretty much the technique. It’s during the dab that I’m bringing the puddle up to the bung. Thanks for watching. Let me know if that explains it enough.

Great video man! Love the Jig setup too! Are you going to PRI?

Thanks! I’m not this year. I have a little one due around that time. Possibly next year.

Great work. But trust me, the music doesnt help the video a bit

We're playing around with different stuff. Some people like it some hate it.

@@tommy3p I know. I am not trying to be rude. It's just that it's loud, and there are so many interesting and useful videos ruined by useless music that it's become annoying

I’m just curious because I don’t know. Why do you recess the bung into the hole? Why not get a bung tapered for the radius of the size tube you’re working with so it’s contoured for the wall of the tube?
@tommy3p10 күн бұрын
I do that on products that are built in fixtures so you have enough play to adjust the angle if the hole is drilled slightly in the wrong place. If I was doing just a wide band bung I use lipped or coped bungs a lot. I’ll do a video about all three here soon.

Perfect timing, doing this today! Is that a 3/32 tungsten? 50A? The video shots are good enough, you don't need the background music. So if that saves you editing time, just leave it out!
@tommy3pАй бұрын
Right on man! Yes 3/32 E3 tungsten. I weld all on feel but I would say around 45-50amps on bungs. I check next time I weld them. Thanks for watching!

How did you hold the bung in while you were tacking ?
@tommy3p10 күн бұрын
I use a clamp to hold it on the fixture. I’ll take some pictures next time I’m building in that fixture.

Where do you get your cups?
@tommy3pАй бұрын
I make them. They used to be available but they were discontinued.

@@tommy3p you should make a vid on those diy cups! Never seen that before

Tigware makes a titanium cup here in Australia that looks identical to the ones in the video. Awesome cups

Why didn't you just walk it half and half? Also purge from bottom and vent on top, so reposition your pipe. 🤪
