Amazing video! Although I find it usually a bit bright the TLM 103 sounded amazing for your voice. I think the KSM 32 would work well as a narration mic as it tames the high end of your voice nicely. Would you ever consider posting a spoken word test where you talk about the characteristics that you like and dislike about each mic while using it? Keep up the amazing work, your quality is improving greatly!

@@jcap8391 I agree. I own a SE X1S and that thing is crazy awesomeness on everything. On vocals it blew my mind, no plosives almost zero sibilance. Just a fantastic mic all-round.

@@DanielPestanaTranslations just checked it out and although I believe your perception I think a 3k or a 1,5-2k priced top notch manufacturer microphone will be at least a small note better than yours..I’ve got a AKG C214 which is great,totally love it BUT I just want to buy my ,,for the future‘‘ microphone,which leads to my signature sound achievement. Have you tried one of the mentioned ones?

You're a great singer. A suggestion would be to show each mic when you're singing the same part. I know it may be more boring, but your dynamic range changes throughout the songs so it's harder to get a fair comparison.

Great comparison - Under 1000 the Lautern audio LA-320 - Under 2000 any (I would love to see how the atlantis sounds when you switching the voicing option) - Over 3000 any mic sounds incredible

Yup. For anything over 1k I’d easily take/steal in a heart beat. For under I’m partial to the Rode NT’s tho cause of how quiet they record and how good they are at recording acoustic. I play acoustic extremely quiet as I don’t use a pick and sing just as quiet

Hello, I am a professional broadcaster who has been using Neumann and Gefell microphones for 30 years. I currently work with two condenser microphones (Neumann U87Ai and a Gefell UMT70s) in my own studio. I want to incorporate a tube (valve) microphone to give my commercial and documentary recordings a warmer tone of voice, so that my voice sounds fuller. I have an educated voice with soft midrange, high treble, and low end not so pronounced. Would the Lauten Audio Eden LT 386 be suitable?

I'm wondering what process you dide on your voice, I noticed that, at 3:06, the "S" punched more on the right channel only. When I mono you vocal mix, I lose clarity in the voice. Was there a Stereo Widener plugin on you vocals by any chance? Could it be the use of the Haas effect too?

The Eden and Lewitt sounded great on your voice. Did you play around with the filters or the forward settning? I used the Eden now for over a year and it takes some time to get to know all its flavour but after your rewarded with so many good options!

The Eden sounded great on your vocal. It seemed to have depth, smoothness, natural compression and clarity. The 1040 was a close 2nd for me. Still liked what the Eden for smoothing out any harsh frequencies.

All 3 of the neumanns are my preference. The 102 has a focused bright tight but not overly harsh tone to me. The 103 sounds bright, open, clear, and airy. The U87ai sounds warm, open, not much air to it, but a little compressed and has a crispness to it that I love (I own a u87ai). I feel like the neaumans all have great clarity to them that the other mics lack. I also like the vibe of the 4033 (also one I own)... it has a lot of presence to it which I find is super unique and sounds great on your voice. The lauten 320, the shure 32 sound nice ... I dislike the 1040, 540, at5040 they just aren't my vibe. I love the u87ai ... its my go to ... it sounds great on everything, never sounds bad. I would highly recommend.

That’s a nice locker you got there. Just a word though: when you pull back or turn your head away from the microphone you actually change the off axis response and that puts a lot of work in the hands of the mix engineer (which I assume is also you). Try to keep your head still and aim directly at the diaphragm for consistent results and a lot less work when mixing. Cheers!

Any of these mics would likely enhance my audio recordings. I would probably lean towards any of the Neumann models, unless it would be the Lewitt 1040. Unfortunately it wouldn't matter which I chose to make my personal vocals better, there's not one available at any price that is that good.

Ok so I've been looking EVERYWHERE for reviews on South African produced Hybrid HF series studio monitors. They seem to be amazing value, but there is no way to make an informed decision as the information on this range is EXTREMELY scarce. I have the Lewitt LCT 840 and my goodness it's beautiful sounding. I don't even have to de-ess the top end is so smooth. I can imagine what the 1040 is like.

​@@jermaineflowers1538 I thought about it for a moment, the 840 isn't a tube side of 940. The 940 is a FET mic with a tube gain stage, not an actual tube. The 840 is it's own mic all together. Different circuit, different capsule, and it's a true tube.

@@legacyShredder1 wait could you explain a bit further? currently considering the 940, and because I assumed that the 840 is just the 940 tube mic without a fet circuit to blend with, but if it's a totally different mic and tube, would u say the 840 might even be better considering it focused on just the tube aspect and 940 is only more expensive because of the "2 in 1" part, lmk if u can help, currently still planning on 94p but maybe u can help and recommend something different

Once I put my AKG headphones on with my phone I went with LA320, WA8000, then the LT386 but I still like the U87ai! I really want to get my hands on one of those LCT1040’s since they have dove what I’ve been thinking for ages! They put a FET, Tube and regular condenser all into one mic! The AT5040 seems extremely sensitive to detail. I like it….but the detail in the LT386 is unmatched in this category. I like the clarity on the Neumann mics. Even on my phone with no headphones Neumann was the clearest and gave the best sound. I still think the WA8000 is a steal. It’s like the best of these mics in a budget giveaway price

It would more helpfully if you said the exact same song portion on every mic...some parts had "S" sounds while other mics didn't get that part of the song so it's kinda hard to compare the harshness...
