What's great about the Challenge exhaust system is that it can be made from mild to wild in terms of the sound really quickly! It's a super lightweight exhaust system even with a catted downpipe and resonator.
In terms of it being consider the best Mini Cooper exhaust, this largely comes from four factors. The first being the quality of craftsmanship. The welds are flawless and the materials used to make the exhaust system are really good.
The second reason this is the best Mini Cooper exhaust system is the sound quality is just right. When you want it tame it's tame and when you want it to be rowdy/louder it get's there. Since the parts are so easy to change on there exhaust system, you could always remove the resonator if you want it even louder.
The third reason this is the best Mini Cooper exhaust system is the cost per value. Since Scorpion Exhausts is a leading manufacture of exhaust systems it's no surprise to me that they spend a lot of time figuring out a good price point to bring a product to market at. This exhaust system is priced perfectly.
And finally the last reason this is the best Mini Cooper exhaust system is the weight savings you get. We saved almost 15lbs going with the Scorpion Challenge exhaust system. And my setup is their heaviest configuration. You could do a resonator delete and save another 7lbs and a hatless downpipe and save another 5lbs. It's mind blowing!
Needless to say, definitely worth every penny I paid to get this exhaust system and I would HIGHLY recommend that if you're interested in picking up the best Mini Cooper exhaust system, you go and checkout the Scorpion Challenge exhaust.

It's not that surprising! In sport mode the turbo is more closed down so it spools faster and the car is more responsive, this also means the turbo is absorbing more energy and sound is a part of that energy. In eco mode, the turbo is almost bypassed so it gets much, much louder. The pre LCI versions also sound really good on the gear shift and decels, they seem to have taken a lot of the pop out of the new version, aka the one with union jack tail lights.

Can you tell me what exhaust upgrade will add the most horsepower to the car? How much would a downpipe add and what kind of downpipe would add most? 2 is a lot louder at the top end of the scale - It is based on orders of magnitude, rather than a standard linear scale, so each mark on the decibel scale is the previous mark multiplied by a value. On the decibel scale, the quietest audible sound (perceived near total silence) is 0 dB. A sound 10 times more powerful is 10 dB

LOL!! The opposite, it feels much more powerful than before. But I think this could be because the turbo is spooling quicker now, thus making more low end power (tq). I think on a NA motor I would see a loss of bottom end with the larger diameter 3" exhaust, but on all my turbo stuff, I've never seen that bottom end power loss. 🤷🏽‍♂😅

Did you include the nuts and bolts and clamps for the weight?

Yes, on both. Only one clamp wasn't included for both of the systems and that's the downpipe to turbo clamp.😬

Thanks, bud! Funny you should ask, it didn't do it immediately, but it just recently triggered the check engine light. I filmed a video on it which should be coming out in a few weeks. 🤘🏼

@@nurtopsc17 aftermarket downpipes nearly always cause a CEL and require a tune. Which is why I was curious.

Yeah, both will throw a CEL and I would recommend getting BootMod3 for tuning. If you do, use code BERTINI to save some money. 🤘🏼
