What hotspot plan do you think is best? Also! Some **notes & timestamps**: 3 main types of hotspot plans - 0:24 Best prepaid plans with hotspot data - 1:17 Best postpaid plans with hotspot data - 5:48 Best Verizon hotspot plans - 7:05 Best AT&T hotspot plans - 7:57 Best Sprint hotspot plans - 8:48 Best T-Mobile hotspot plans - 9:21 Two honorable tablet plans from AT&T - 10:21 I made a spreadsheet! - 11:20 **Notes**: You can also find grandfathered AT&T unlimited plans _with unlimited hotspot_ on eBay from various sellers. Signing up for one of these plans would be at your own risk, though considering you get unlimited data the pricing is reasonable. Typically I see plans going for around $99/month. US Mobile's $50 for 50GB plan is also a great option on the Verizon network. Sprint has an awesome BYOD promotion right now where you can get unlimited hotspot data for $15/mo - phoneplan.info/sprint-byod Many carriers are offering bonus hotspot data. I did not take these into consideration because they are temporary increases. Please check with your current provider to see if you get bonus hotspot data for the next 30-60 days! If you're looking for a hotspot device, the Nighthawk M1 is probably one of the best ones out right now - amzn.to/2JIZnYT (Amazon affiliate link) You may also find a decent deal on the Nighthawk on eBay - phoneplan.info/nighthawk-m1-ebay (eBay affiliate link)

When you say " you can now confirm that wing tel is actually selling a business tmobile account" what do you mean exactly by that? Is that a good or bad thing?
@StetsonDoggett
@StetsonDoggett 4 жыл бұрын
It’s a good thing! Basically it means Wing is providing T-Mobile business plans. This is good because it means you get postpaid data priority, or in other words your data speeds won’t slow down when the network is busy (until after you’ve used the included 50GB of priority data). With other T-Mobile plans, like Mint, your data speeds will be slowed if there are a lot of T-Mobile postpaid subscribers using the network. With Wing, you’ll have postpaid data priority.

@@JSantana319 Ya I had a Verizon note 4 and it wasn't detected and my unlimited plan on AT&T prepaid never actually slowed down. It's really a good glitch and technically you're not violating any terms because the phone is useable on the network and the hotspot feature is enabled. Now I have a Verizon unlocked note 9 on AT&T post paid and all the services are working. Wifi calling, video calling, volte. Hotspot works but it's detectable because I have all the AT&T software, bloatware on the phone. Haha. Even got Android 10 now after going to a phone repair shop just now and they updated it for free. I basically turned a Verizon note 9 into an AT&T note 9. Unlocked phones are definitely the way to go as long as it has CDMA and GSM capabilities. That's why I buy Verizon unlocked phones.

It works everywhere we've been, from Colorado to Ohio, Florida to Arkansas, and all up the east coast. I wonder why it wasn't included in this video, as it is the best go-anywhere mobile data plan to be found. I hate at&t, but they have the best coverage of all US carriers.

How much data would you buy to stream TV in order to "cut the cord" and replace cable tv (internet, tv, and voice)?
@dennisp8520
@dennisp8520 4 жыл бұрын
Cutting the cord doesn't mean cutting your internet. No one does that. It means getting rid of cable TV. People who rely on hotspot are those that don't have a cable internet provider as a option . Think rural Americans where the only choice they got is satalitle. Hotspot is more expensive and when it comes to home internet usage the average American consumes over 300+gb per month. Far more than what these plans are ment for

Hey Stetson, I have Verizon's $70 per month prepaid unlimited everything plan, and honestly, it isn't that bad. I have a Verizon jetpack at which shows up as a Verizon mifi as a wireless device, and I carried that over from when I was on their post paid department, and nothing was ever said about bringing the hotspot over to prepaid. I get probably about 3/3.5 MB down, about 1 to 2 or so up or so and that's on 1 to 2 bars. The hotspot I do believe has 3g fallback.

Hi! You said to comment what I have if it’s different..... I just switched (May 2020) my 5 AT&T phone lines to AT&T unlimited Elite from a shared data plan. I get “unlimited data” (100GB cap) and 45 or 50gb hotspot data on top for $40/mo/line with autopay, plus HBOgo. Otherwise 50/mo/line without autopay. My tablet is among the 5 lines and I put that sim in my mobile WiFi router with no issues so far. Speeds are typical 4GLTE on AT&T so I usually see 20-50mbps down and 1-10mbps up unless I hit 5G. I work on vpn’s 24/7 and have had no issues so far. Been thinking of switching my home internet over to the plan as well... but then suddenlink matched the price when I threatened to disconnect. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Great video btw! 👍
@StetsonDoggett

The Elite plan is definitely awesome! Super premium for heavier data users. Multi-line discount really helps bring the cost down per line. I actually believe you get 100GB of priority data, and then unlimited deprioritized data after that! Deprioritized data just means your speeds may be slowed compared with other traffic if the cell tower is busy. Thanks for commenting!

I got rid of DSL almost a year ago. I use Sprint on my iPhone. I get 50gb of hotspot per month ( they increased it to 70gb while we’re stuck at home) and unlimited regular data for $65 per month, $5 off if you enroll in autopay. I also have an LTE iPad on Sprint for $25 a month ( same $5 off autopay) with 10gb of hotspot, unlimited regular data. My total bill is $83 per month for 60gb hotspot, but I have no other bills for internet access. So far hotspot is manageable for me. I connect my Roku, my home PC, or my work PC and speeds are usually a bit to a lot better than my DSL was. The catch is it really only has bandwidth for 1 device at a time. I live by myself so that’s fine. BTW for me an hour of streaming = ~ 1gb of data.

While planning my future getaways, possibly with an RV, I came across your video. Thank you! This became a current quest to get away from satellite internet as my home service. One because I got hit by a spam attack that puts easily 600 emails a week into my primary account, two because I am currently limited to 15 GBs of data a month and if I remain at home, as I have during the COVID 19 self quarantine, use up just doing anything more than updating my OS’s and APPs before the end of my month. And it’s expensive. Now AT&T offers a wireless plan of 50GB a month but the FCC’s website shows that they only recognize (offer?), in my area, 10mb/s down load (which is currently better than my satellite internet is giving me although they advertised and originally gave me 12mb/s down and 3 up). The baggage with AT&T is that they give you the equipment and any necessary antenna(ae) but I doubt they care to optimize my service beyond what they tell the FCC they are allowing. My understanding is that these ‘Mobile Internet’ folks will tell you what modem/transmitter-antenna(ae) combination to purchase for the best possible data transmission when boon-docking but that’s essentially how my rural permanent location is and on a clear unobstructed night I can see the aircraft beacon on top of the cell tower (I am within 3 miles, 1 or 2 bars, ~-112db on field test) Your video suggests “Cricket Mobile” offers the best plan for my needs but I’m not sure if the can do what I’ve mentioned. I will try to talk to them but I usually can’t get past the sales folks without committing to an installation.

What about adding a line to your cell plan, and then putting the sim card into a mofi or kuwfi router? Both routers have settings to set it up so it just looks like data from one device and not a hotspot... I use at&t and I can add an unlimited line for $35. I believe it gets throttled when congested after 22GB of data is used, but not too bad if you wanted to use the routers settings to "trick" the system.

Thank you for this info! I actually did not know this. Wish I had so I could have mentioned it in the video! With the unlimited streaming options, T-Mobile's plans become much better.

Unlimited streaming needs air quotes, as they force your stream down to 480p or so. Limited resolution and unlimited streaming are mutually exclusive terms.

What about the Sprint tablet plan? It's $15/month for unlimited tablet data if you BYOD.
@weatheronthe8s895

I don’t see where that promo is for $15, but I do see the standard $25 tablet plan. I basically have that for my iPad and it works fine for the most part. It’s actually a pretty decent deal. Better than the AT&T one he mentioned if Sprint works decent in your area, plus it includes 10 GB of hotspot. The only problem I have is it gets really slow randomly sometimes, but I’m pretty sure that’s just Sprint being Sprint. My phone is through US Cellular so I cannot say whether the Sprint issues apply to their phones or not.

In my opinion having true unlimted data, without being worried about capped speeds, and having unlimted hotspot data for $40 a month with visible is prob the best deal anywhere.

Hey Stetson, I was wondering if you could recommend or know anyway that I can find a couple to join my party plan with Visible. I've tried some personal option, but I'd like to find out if there is some other "out-reach" ways for me to recruit a person or 2. It would save that person (or people) some $, most likely, and bring my bill down. I enjoy how you're about the best service and best deals out there! Thank you...

I just switched my iPhone XR to visible. Was on T-Mobile. Visible is great, coverage everywhere. Speeds aren’t super fast but great coverage and the unlimited hotspot is a game changer. Unfortunately they don’t have any tablet plans so I’m either tethering my iPad to my phone of using my unlimited T-Mobile tablet plan. But might switch to Verizon’s 80$ unlimited, I’m also thinking of getting different SIM cards and using a different carrier from time to time. Since my iPad is unlocked and paid off. I can just use pay as you go plans. So if I don’t need data for a month I don’t have to pay for it. Getting a wing SIM card sent to me as I type this. Also saw a 15$ unlimited plan from MetroPCS.

@@eljuancho2 jetpack didn't work for me bc it wouldn't allow me to change the apn settings fully Maybe the newer ones will but this older 4000 series only let me change the apn name and nothing else I got a tplink 802n run in hotspot router mode and it connects to the Moto z play just fine and it handles all the addressing and connections within the network and my main goal is accomplished, allowing my surveillance system to be accessed remotely as well as having a home network for the Android TV and wireless printer The Moto z play actually allows 10 connections and it all worked fine without the router however I had to use a wireless bridge to hardwire my cameras to the wireless network The tplink should work with any visible phone though I was able to activate the Sim with a non visible phone btw, all done with the app then you uninstall the app and the data works on most unlocked Verizon phones just not the calling, which I don't need for a hotspot anyway do you can try a cheap phone with hotspot and it should work as a standalone hotspot

I have crickets hotspot 40 gb for 50 on my iPad mini 4 cellular. And they have an optional 15gb extra for ten bucks if you run out. It’s decent for the price, just wish it was truly unlimited. But 40 gbs is a decent amount. And I get 12 gbs on my phones plan so I should be alright considering I have spectrum WiFi at home and I’m mostly here anyways

My phone has US Cellular and I am still on one of their older “unlimited” plans. The old plan sucked, but they have since removed the caps on them to make them actually unlimited like their newer plans. They never told me with this that I didn’t have unlimited hotspot, so I assume I do have it. I should since it’s more expensive than their newer plan that doesn’t have unlimited hotspot. I haven’t fully tested it though to know for sure.

I'm grandfathered in to T-Mobile's old ONE+ International plan that includes true unlimited LTE hotspot for $100 a month. It's a bit pricey, but considering this is also my home internet service, I'm actually saving a decent amount. And since all T-Mobile plans include 5G access, I should eventually get unlimited 5G hotspot as well. :)

I feel like any truly unlimited hotspot data plan will eventually be abused until they limit it in some way. Especially with the advent of 5G. Just curious if it's some bug that you were able to circumvent Visible's hotspot restrictions. 5 Mbps is not ideal but may ensure the plan actually stays unlimited long term.
