only an idiot would be led astray by that comparison. The man is obviously not an idiot, and I would think he chose to hold on to the piece, even though he seems very tempted to sell. That piece will soar in price, and it might be worth millions someday.

I hear ya. Perhaps tell him the good news that his piece is worth thousands, and Titus has remarkable other works that sell into the millions, stating that happening that took place; thus, congratulating this man who treasures Titus's work as a smart man. Two part good news. But maybe it helped to feel ok this is doable in my mind. Something worth $4 million could rack a mind and overwhelm whereas this amount would not necessarily do so.

It's unlikely that a work as small as this would cost millions unless it was by van Gogh or some such artist. I'm sure he knew this.

There is no piece by Titus that has ever sold for $4,000,000, or $3MM, or even $2MM. In fact, his all time record price at auction is $1.05MM, and every other work ever sold at auction is under $1MM. I don’t know what this woman is talking about.

I also thought it was weird. He doesn’t remember when he bought it and doesn’t remember how much he paid for it? But hes on the board of a museum that had some involvement with him. And he keeps saying “Titus?!” As if he knows the guy personally. Maybe he was given the piece but for production reasons was asked to come up with a fake background and is fumbling it.
