In May 2023 I did the cringey tourist thing and went to the Kyoto office, and yes I took photos. I kept my distance though! Myself and my girlfriend also went to the Fushimi shrine after and we got pretty far up, about half an hour or a bit longer up. We had to turn back once we saw the signs that warned us against aggressive monkeys that apparently attack tourists and other visitors. Another star fox reference I guess?

Cool! Looking forward to seeing all the great footage of your trip! I also was wondering about something- I read online that for travel to Japan JAL airline had a new rule starting in 2021 about use of electronic devices. On their site, they say it does not apply to devices 100 wats or less. If I ever go to Japan, I would love to bring my switch on the plane! That would be disappointing if they don’t allow that…. It specifically says no gaming machines….. I wish there was a way to find out if this includes Nintendo switch….
@rtara112 ай бұрын
I went back to the explanation from JAL and it sounds like as long as the device can be used in airplane mode and is 100 Watts or less, you can use it and just have to turn it off if when requested. I’m pretty sure the switch is less than 100 Watts :)

I've been to Japan a half dozen times now, and I barely went to Kyoto for the first time a little over a year ago. Kit and Krysta's comments about the beauty and serenity of that city can't be emphasized enough. It's amazing. I do wonder about the security guards though, and whether they take pride in working somewhere that has spread so much love and thus is tolerant of tourists or simply hates them. No way to know I suppose. It is important to be respectful though, naturally. I went there for pictures and my Japanese friend I was with had to nudge me into taking a picture on the building's side of the street because I was getting embarrassed. So I totally get where Krysta is coming from. Also, about the Fushimi Inari shrine. If you take breaks and pace yourself, it's not as bad as it sounds. I went to the top having had very little physical activity before going, and made it fine. I was tired and sweating, no doubt, but I made it. The top wasn't super impressive BUT there were a bunch of cats at the top that made me happy. Definitely one of those 'the journey is more important than the destination' situations, in my opinion at least. I love hearing this week's podcast from you though. Brings back fond memories of all my trips there and makes me longing for more.

Hair loss is absolutely not exclusive to men. Your immediate mocking, that I KNOW is bubbling, is exactly why women's hair loss is not addressed or marketed to. Misogyny.
@MaxAethon2 ай бұрын
K&K: "Okay guys let's talk about our sponsor, Hims, a hair loss prevention product marketed towards men" You: "OMG HOW DARE YOU NOT ADDRESS HAIR LOSS IN WOMEN I KNOW YOURE PURPOSELY MOCKING WOMEN BECAUSE IM A CERTIFIED ARMCHAIR PSYCHOLOGIST YOU ARE THE EXACT REASON WHY WOMEN CANT GET HELP YOU MISOGYNIST!!!"
@Janiz19982 ай бұрын
I think Hims has exclusively men's treatment (just based on other ad reads I have seen/heard). They do have a sister company call Hers, but I am guessing they may not have the contract with Hers
@SB-jj2cj2 ай бұрын
Oh my god, give me a break. It's a sponsored segment, they are literally given a guideline as to what to say and how. Please put your energy onto fighting *real* misogyny in places that truly matter. If you really have a problem with the market offer of products for you/for women, go complain to Hims, but then again, I don't think you're their target demographic. Again, what's stopping you from getting a hair loss product anyway? Are you really complaining here about not being marketed to? Marketing sucks, and any adult is perfectly capable of doing some research or visiting a doctor and getting a product to trait hair loss, we're not talking about equality rights or politics. Borderline suspecting that this might be bait.
@MaisieSqueak2 ай бұрын
@@SB-jj2cj What p!sses me off most about you lot is you get away with these defenses when you're called out... ELEVEN likes... I'm not saying Kit and Krysta OR the product is particularly Misogynist... But the complete lack of, prominent and non shaming, similar support for women IS. OK? Always defending. You never listen.
@jellojiggler16932 ай бұрын
To be fair, it's more socially acceptable for a woman to wear a wig/weave/lacefront/etc. than it is for a man to wear a toupee. And there's a big market for wigs for women.
