QUESTION: Does this monitor use "True 8-Bit" technology for the panel? Or does this monitor use the inferior "6-Bit plus FRC" technology for the panel? I see a "rainbow effect" when 6-Bit technology is used on monitors. I only use the monitor for office type of work and the Internet and maybe some movies once in a while.
@DigitalDavid2 жыл бұрын
Honestly not sure on that one. Looked pretty good to me though! ~B
@michaelzoran2 жыл бұрын
@@DigitalDavid I found out the Sceptire 22" one I purchased that seems to be the same one you have is "True 8-Bit" technology. it is an excellent monitor that is FAR SUPERIOR to the 22" LG monitor I had that used the inferior "6-Bit plus FRC" technology. I actually went to Best Buy and looked at monitors from LG, Acer, HP, Samsung, and others. All of them that were 22" on display used the inferior "6-Bit plus FRC" technology and I saw the rainbow effect. Also, the LG and Samsung monitors had brightness levels of only 200 nits and 250 nits. The HP one went up to 300 nits, but it still looked bad from the rainbow effect. Most of the monitors from LG, Samsung, Acer, and HP were also VA, but some were IPS. I didn't matter, though, because the "6-Bit plus FRC" inferior color and inferior Brightness made them look bad. The Sceptre monitor has "True 8-Bit Color" and has 350 Nits of Brightness. And the pre-set colors out of the box are 100% perfect. The only thing that is a little strange about the Sceptre monitor is that when I turn off my PC, it tells me it is going into a power-saving mode, and then the blue power light flashes on and off the entire time. I can manually turn off the power button so the light is then red and definitely "off." But in that situation when I turn the PC on again the monitor doesn't "automatically" turn on. So, I just let the blue light flash. That way when I turn the PC on again the monitor "automatically" turns on with the PC. This monitor from Sceptre is an IPS and has excellent viewing angles. I'm definitely going to get an IPS TV in the future rather than a VA, because the VA from LG was so overwhelmingly terrible with its viewing angles.

will this be better then my tv for ps4?
@DigitalDavid Жыл бұрын
This is a pretty basic monitor, so I'd need to know the specs of your tv to know which is better. There are definitely gaming monitors out there that would be better than your tv though ~B
