yeah, they literally screw in to the plastic instead of having a metal thread insert, so they strip really quick. though it's a good thing that good quality monitor arms come in cheap now, usually at around $15 to $20.

Yeah, that sucks a lot! I`ve been noticing that trend with cheapo panels last few years. Wobbly non-adjustable mess. I have Dell U2412M since 2015 (back then it cost me around $400 in europe) which is ancient by all modern metrics (i quite like 16:10 aspect ratio though, shame that died out) but it has ergonomically adjustable stand with height, swivel, tilt and pivot with steel base and all moving parts - still smooth with no creaks. Also I guess stand alone is double the weight of any of these monitors. Whole thing is almost 7 kg which is probably in line with 30" decent quality panels these days.
@yasu_red
@yasu_red Жыл бұрын
Part of why I like a lot of older Dell monitors, since those often had height adjustable, tilting AND rotating stands, meanwhile you'd be lucky to get any of those on most new cheap monitors, and the image quality isn't much better on those if at all usually.

For anyone looking at cheap monitors, Do be aware that the biggest (in my experience doing repair work in the industry) factor is longevity. I've seen a LOT of dirt cheap monitors have either REALLY bad coil whine straight out of the box, or straight up blown caps within a few months. While they are simple repairs, you don't want to be fixing something you just bought. Look into the brand your buying for some long term reviews if you can

What? Expect back bleed and dead pix to be the danger even if reviews gives a screen a ok. How can a non CRT monitor be so bad that it die due to caps and coil wine?? Got a 1440p 31.5inch 75hz screen for like $200 and it is still a really good monitor 3 years into owning it. Got heavily used 1080p monitors from Samsung and BenQ that are still doing there job no dead pixels or back bleed or anything. All cheap ish screens. 2005-2015. Sure 60hz but still.

Being over budget on my last PC build by $500, I almost bought one of Amazon's $150 monitors, because the PC I owned last last time had one of the early widescreen LCD monitors that offered connection only through DVI or mesozoic port. Thankfully I opted for a decent 165hz 1440p monitor instead, but I came so close to the Amazon crap pile that I could smell it. It's always fun to see you scrape the bottom of the tech barrel. I'd love to see more Deathmatch Arena of cheap garbage videos like this. I especially love that Koorui slogan: "fighting for your dreams". What does that mean? Why? I bought an entry-level AOC VA panel and really regretted it. The only games I am willing to play on it are strategy or Diablo-style RPG games as anything with full-screen animations (think FPS or simulation) or even watching movies results in a pea soup on screen whenever there are significant transitions in brightness or motion. Panning especially results in massive amounts of ghosting. While static images and brightness on a VA are pretty pleasant, I would much rather opt for a cheap TN panel that has reasonable response times even if it is only a 60hz panel. Mistakes were made and lessons were learned. Thanks, Dawid for your video, I noticed the Koorui monitors on Amazon and was wondering if they were any good. As usual, the Amazon reviews set a relatively low bar (think: it turned on, 5 stars!) so it is great to see these put through their paces.

I have a 32inch 1440p 165hz pixio. After it being reviewed several tech tubers. Paid just over £200. After using it for about 6mths I can say it punches above it's class. If anyone is looking to get a decent well priced monitor. You could do a lot worse than picking up a Pixio. Colours are bright and not washed out ,image is sharp. UI is simple and easy to navigate. Plenty of I/O two hdmi one DP usb and headphone jack

All VA panels suffer from low pixel response time, specially from black to white. Some are better than others but all suffer from this. Room temperature will also affect this. The colder the worse it gets. No VA panel can reach a 1ms response time, not even grey to grey (unless the greys are very close together).

I have been impressed with the Pixio monitors from what I have seen online so far. Coming from a 60hz 40" television I imagine anything will be better, but I'll be saving up for something 1440p, 31 to 32 inch, 144hz or better, and while that will likely be 250 to 300 in price, it'll be worth the wait.

As a huge fan of quality vintage hifi, tarnishing the Japanese Sansui brand by selling such cheap Chinese crap as Sansui really rubs me the wrong way. In rhe 70s, it was one of the most appreciated hifi brands, selling expensive but exceptional audio gear which is still appreciated and highly sought after today. How things have changed.

"why not spend the extra money on a monitor with a better stand?" because you can reuse a VESA stand, and that completely eliminates any future concerns about ergonomics.

You should do this with 1440p monitors! Last year I bought a CRUA 27in IPS 144Hz 1440p monitor for about 200 USD, and right now with black friday deals I've seen it at 170 USD. I haven't really had many issues with the monitor apart from a few dead pixels, and in my ignorance (this is my first gaming monitor) the image quality looks pretty good! I've also seen many other monitors from weird brands at about the same price point of around 200 USD and I've wondered how good (or awful) they really are. Do I have a horrible monitor because of no point of reference? Did I find a good deal? I'd really like to see these questions answered!

Just wait for wall-shart to put the prior year model LG-Ultragear on clearance. I picked up a 1440p 32 inch for $250 mid 2022. Good VA panels are quite nice, but I'd stick to namebrand for a VA panel. That was some Onn by Walmart quality with the sansui panel.

Honestly if I was on a really tight budget I'd look for refurbished/used office monitors, which tend to be even cheaper than the ones in the video. Sure, they'll usually only be 60Hz, but at least they won't assault yor eyes with terrible image quality *and* a lot of them feature height adjustable stands, which is way better for ergonomics.

I bought monitors for ~130€ before, and they're doing their job for nearly 10 years now just fine. 1080p 60 Hz 22'', but able to run 84 Hz. Gotta sit a bit closer than on a 24'', but the pixel density is nice. Oh, and VGA D-Sub isn't too surprising. At that price they would be bought by people on a budget, so there is a good chance they also have cheap/old computers to connect to. From budget gamers to offices. And I agree on the power bricks. Takes so much space on the extension cord.
