I just bought a Moto-9 Flex this spring, it is tighter than my others for the same size, but when you put it on it is so comfortable that after two seconds you don't feel it anymore. It stays where you wear it, you can keep your hands on the handlebars rather than lifting your helmet.

I've worn Airoh, TLD, Shoei, Arai and Bell Flex I have more of an oval head, and the Flex fits more comfortably than any helmet I've ever worn. The TLD is a close second. They are similar, but the Bell chin bar sits a little closer to my face. My TLD composite feels slightly lighter than the Bell. Haven't weighed them though.

Guys thankyou for your videos, I am a enduro rider and most of the pro enduro riders (especially in WESS) use Airoh helmets due to weight , ventilation and goggle space , I really looking for a quiality review like the ones you guys do, however there is not much out there. I have my reserves in terms of safety, specially if the weight affects the safety performance. I have been riding with a shoei vfxw for the las 5 years but is very old and heavy and i am looking for a change, I know you only review helmets that you sell, however I think Airoh is a very important brand and you should look for including them into your brands, I think a lot of people here would appreciate it, especially the ones that enjoy trails, low speed and technical riding.

I bought the carbon flex and it definitely suits people with longer thinner shaped heads. I have a more round head and I'm getting lots of pressure on the sides and a fingers gap at the front. Unless your head shape is perfect for this helmet you are going to experience pressure points because of the almost nonexistent foam pads around your scalp.

Hi Guys ..., My head is spinning out, lol. with all the reviews, I ride mostly trail/motocrosss two stroke for hours on end, So adjustment/fit, noise, lightweight, vent ajusting/venting, maintenance/interior cleaning for long term owningship and that companies cover the breakage/defects, confort, and aesthetics (not goches) is most important, too. Can you tell me which trail and motocross riding helmet is the best premium helmet to use to judge others by ? Or maybe a line up, best of best premiums, 1-thur 10 ? lol. I've had injuries so I don't like scrimping on saftey, too........., A "very big problem" I found, is I have a "pointed head" ( no joke)! and the weight of the helmet rests on the very top edges or "crown" of the sides of my head and the pain on my head is unbearable ? (not kidding) !! Unless I find helmets shaped to fit this problem, it's very painful ! Some dealers or shops in the past have turned me on to this fitting tip, It's helped me with fitting in the past ..., thanks for your help in this matters ..., joseph.f.pistone@gmail.com

In the past, I've worn Shoei for years as I discovered I have a head that fit them better than , for instance, an Arai helmet. I'm 62 and have bought a few helmets over the years. The 6D continues to impress me every time I pick it up, 6D won a grant in a competition with 120 other entries. They're working with the NFL to improve their safety. If you go to 6dhelmets.com they give more details. I was impressed enough to chance spending more than I wanted to on a new helmet. I have no regrets at all!

Whats the benefit of buying a $700 helmet over a $200. They are both DOT
@rmatvmc
@rmatvmc 5 жыл бұрын
I can see your point, but, you have to remember that DOT is just a baseline or standard. Both helmets have a DOT sticker but that doesn't necessarily mean they're equal. If two runners are required to run a mile in 8 minutes and the first runner does it in 7:50 and the second in 6:00, both passed the standard but there is a big difference in performance.

Why you promote Snell std and why is the impact levels that Snell require make it safer for your head? Do you guys understand the g forces to reach that impact level, it is no safer than DOT in fact ask yourself why 6D or Leatt don’t use Snell std, it has nothing to do with the per helmet fee to gain said sticker certification, it’s to do with impact transfer and distribution from reaching such impact levels which can be transmitted to the brain, neck and body! The industry is very traditional in its beliefs about standards? All I will say is people should really do there research before trusting a label that touts saftey and for reference I was the same for years until I broke my neck and did my research into saftey technology and standards and how they are tested and what they mean and what they mean to me during a crash. Post that some of the changes I made to brand other devices I have had crashes where previously would have had a sore head for days or a concussion at best, or worse, since then I have had as big if not bigger crashes and had nothing but dirt, damaged ego, I have been in observation by track EMTs and even they have been surprised how well I was after a couple of incidents, I doubt I’ll ever own a Snell helmet again btw. Looks while important are the last decision out of my requirements for any protection equipment. Just my experiences here.

I’m asking why you promote the Snell std so much , not being critical of that, but why do you believe in it?
@Mockle07
@Mockle07 5 жыл бұрын
Maverick224 You can’t compare crash for crash and declare one helmet better than another, that’s absolute madness! 😂 There are so many factors that go into a crash, which is why sometimes people walk away from massive crashes without a scratch then shatter their ankle falling off their bike at walking pace, it doesn’t mean it’s the boot’s fault. The fact is, you’re not an expert and with respect your “research” is a drop in the ocean compared to the actual research and testing Snell and the helmet manufacterers will do and if the manufacturers didn’t genuinely believe that Snell was worth it they wouldn’t spend millions developing their helmet to comply, it’s as simple as that.
@maverick2242
@maverick2242 5 жыл бұрын
Michael Hodgkinson I don’t think I said one helmet was better than another ot said any of these helmets were bad, did I, I mentioned 2 brands one here one not, but did not say anything about any brand here pos or neg, I said do your research. Also I can speak with some experience of 40 years of riding racing since I was 5, I have had many injuries and crashes many I can compare, yes it is not scientific, but one thing others have told me is I know my body well and that’s from quite a few medial personal. I didn’t mention any of these brands though I have had TLD in this list earlier model and had nothing but good experience with them except the liner which I modified a bit of plastic for comfort and fit. I was in hospital accross from a guy who at the same time as I broke my neck had had a road bike crash and died while I was there, he suffered extensive head injuries, Ill never forget the shirt conversations we had, later the doctor asked me about my crash and where how etc, he said our helmets had one thing in common, I had brain injury as the road guy not as serious but the focus was on my back and neck, he said the external shell of both out helmets was similar eg scratched no cracks no indentations externally, they destroyed mine and I never got it back. I was lucky the other guy was not, the doctor was trying to compare totally different scenarios similar outcomes and results but different endings, I still suffer head pain and pressure points even now typing this, it comes and goes varies with weather exercise and repetitive activity which is not good for me, ironically riding helps. mentally and well as physically. All I asked was why the std is promoted again research it if you want to be informed if not stay ignorant and take your chances, Unlike Chase I have not ridden in all these brands and hence why I said nothing about said brands, other than looks do not factor in my decision making high on the list. I think there is lack of real information out there and allot is marketing, in saying that many of these helmets I will say have some interesting technology which is only an opinion but I think it seems or appears like great technology, but a sticker std for impact resistance for me is not one of them, Id like to have these guys or a MXA or someone get inside and show us why it is good, what it actually means CCE/DOT/Snell and no I am not talking about the acronyms, actual in depth see through what’s tested how and why it’s good. Btw if you had seen some of my recent crash’s you wouldn’t question my comparisons post injury, I still have the EMT reports which I leant to keep as a record. But it’s not just helmeted choice it’s a combination of protection devices that have helped in those situations, always scary sitting in observation thinking about what could have happened esp if not using the protection I was, that has been conveyed to me as well by expert medical staff, I have it in writing. But read what I said, don’t read into what I said, make your own mind up research or not, your head your consequences and your families often forgotten and it happens to the best to joe average. Dungey broke his neck (2016), Villopoto wears a neck brace won’t ride without it, Seely retired from injuries, injuries have retired more top riders than age has.

Maverick224 I’m not sure I can take anything you just said seriously because you seem to think that “allot” is a word. But banter aside, none of what you just said backs up your apparent mistrust of Snell as a legitimate safety standard. I also don’t believe for one second that an average “medical personnel ” (doctor or nurse) has any actual expertise in the specifics of crash criteria and the effectiveness of differing safety equipment. Saying you “know your own body” just because you’ve crashed a lot (not allot) and hurt yourself does not make you an expert in crash protection in any way shape or form. Yes, riders retire due to crashes and they wear the best kit on the market, they also all wear different brands so it only goes to prove my point; shit happens. No matter what you wear and how good it is, motorsport is dangerous.
