What's equally as impressive is the transmission that lets you shift it as fast as that... those moves just aren't going to happen in something like a Corvette.

nakaya seems like the best driver out of the entire crew. he kept the battle close when he was in the evo but when he got in the spec c, he completely dismantled the evo

I love subaru's but have to disagree with you on the awd system. The super active yaw control on the EVO is the worlds most advanced AWD system and not even used in their rally cars because of fear it may be banned.

This was all down to drivers. The Evo driver completely messed up the start. I'm in the Mitsubishi camp though I think in the UK the Evo was always slightly quicker and better looking

But the RS doesn't carry ACD/AYC. So no gizmos to help. Purely driver and engine/ AWD layout in my opinion.

The GT-R seems to be spitting out a lot of dark clouds (inbetween shifts, im guessing) is this the reason why they aren't legal in the US?

Thats not the reason they're illegal, that could be fixed by adding a catalytic converter. It's illegal because they weren't officially crash tested. The company Motorex, which has an ad in the beginning of this video, actually crash tested a few and legally imported some skylines with safety modifications for a period of time before shady business practices got them shut down.

***** Hot rods and other vehicles that are classified as "vintage" don't need to meet the emissions requirements of modern cars. Also, different states have varying laws regarding what "vintage" means. The R34 is too modern to fall into that category. The reason it can't be imported is due to safety requirements and the lack of crash test data.
