How come the GTR's didn't have the RB26 as an engine?

because of fitment issuses the straight six RB26 was to high to create a low center of gravity thats why they build a v8 with a low profile, to be able to lower the height of the car even more tus lowering the center of gravity.

2004 was rb28 block later they changed to a V8 because of height problems when they wanted a car with a lower center of gravity
