True but the CSL could not show it‘s full potential on this track + second heaviest car on track and suspension setup / cornering capabilities are not as good as a Lotus or S2000 which have a double wishbone setup. This track is made for slower lighter cars but the CSL still slashed the competition 💪🥳

Sl55? You're better off with a c63 on track. The M3 CSL sounded like god's howl, geez that engine's induction makes a symphony like no other. The s2000 and lotus did really well for their power disadvantage, great chassis'.

Check M3's rear view mirror at 1:25. SL55 clearly the fastest accelerating car here in a straight but too bad this track actually involves tight corners. Its power advantage just wasn't making up for it weighing about 1,000lbs more than the rest of the pack...

Yeah but the amg gtr is also $160k. As of right now I'm racing exige cup 430 and beating them by about almost 2 seconds in my s2000 with $50k put in the car. The amg gtr is only beating the cup 430 by only a second in some tracks.

The M3 CSL is a super-lightweight version of the M3. Yeah, the Lotus is the lightest car on the field by far, but the M3 CSL is pretty light compared to its regular M3 form.

the s2000 is all the circuit behind the m3 and the s2k has 250hp and the m3 has 360hp is a huge diference off power but the s2k is really good stuff, with 250hp it handles vs an m3 csl awessome, im really impressed about the s2k performance and handling :)

Should be SL63 AMG, notice SL is a GT car for Mercedes, the handling are set up for comfort and the responsiveness probably delayed for daily reason as well. Not comparable. Anyway, that's an excuse, because the E60 M5 is a sedan but lapped a 1:07.45 during the race and a time attack lap of 1:06.56 which is about the same as the M3 CSL's TA time. Damn, I love the E60!

An m3 csl is nearly the cost of 2 s2000's. Put it up against the regular m3 and ya got em. A csl is a straight up stripped track car.

We can agree to disagree about the best sports car of all time, but the base model e46 M3 had an MSRP of $46,500. Obviously the race wouldve been closer, but given the M3s power advantages and both cars having great handling and balance I still think the M3 wouldve won. Its also worth mentioning the difference in market position between the m3 and s2000. One is a 2 seat roadster, the other is a four seater that still has to be somewhat practical and needs to share certain things with non M models

The kind of curcuit does play a big role, Tsukuba is a low speed cotnering circuit with short straights, most powerful cars wont be able to fully perform on a track like this unlike they are perfectly balanced. Around the Nürburgring the CSL is 6s faster that the NSX-R.

Cornering speed, the RX8 has a higher corner exit speed whereas the AMG needs to accelerate from a lower speed and such short straights. If the straight were longer the AMG would have taken it.
