Thanks a lot for this simple yet very educational video. My question is about Jurik and Hull MA what is the best time frime to used them and in combination of which EMA?
@MPlain5 жыл бұрын
when you start plugging in some EMAs and SMAs you start seeing some really interesting things. I like using the daily chart to see what is going on. trends etc. then drop to the 4 hour chart to get a feel for what the market is doing more recently. and finally i will drop to the 1 hour chart to actually initiate a trade. i have an 8 EMA, a 20,50, and 200 SMA as well as a 50 and 200 EMA. each has its own value and in a lot of cases...depending on what chart you are looking at....some of the bigger ones represent key areas of resistance. odds are market bounces off and retreats. if it breaks...you wait and watch and pay attention.....see if it is really gonna go or if is just market makers baiting you into a trap.

Im having a hard time when knowing which case is which
@MPlain4 жыл бұрын
@@FretBuzzLIF The lines are like markers. Remember that the line you are looking at is the last so many bars. so if you are looking at an 8 EMA on a one day chart that is 8 days. look at the same EMA on a 4 hour chart and it is in a different place because now you are only looking at what happened over the last day and a bit. Drop to a 1 hour chart and this is the current trading session basically as it is only 8 hours. Just like the charts represent more so the current market attitude....so do the lines. What is important on a long term chart is mearly a directional indicator signal on another. Also remember that these lines represent what just happened ....the last bar. these are reactive indicators. I hardly ever look at charts less then 1 hour.
@FretBuzzLIF4 жыл бұрын
@@MPlain Thanks but i actually meant i fail to identify a true breakout from a trap
@MPlain4 жыл бұрын
@@FretBuzzLIF Break outs don't happen...just because. major moves ALWAYS have some kind of news behind them. sometimes it is pending news....the market is acting expecting something. 100 point moves DO NOT just happen. Hopefully you are using more then 1 trigger. Just because something crosses a trend line or breaks beyond a support / resistance ...does not say it is going to go. There is no such thing as a hard line in the sand ....beyond this point is gold. You need other confirmation to go with it. And... even then we all do take some hits sometimes. If it is going sideways. DO NOT sit on it too long. And never go in big right away. Once you are in and it is going a little bit....add. keep your investment at a reasonable loss rate so if that happens its not a disaster. My first FOREX experience was a total disaster. I learned from that. Keep the faith. You will get it.

Anyone using GMMA (Guppy Multiple Moving Average) here ? Group1 uses short term set at 3, 5, 8, 10, 12, and 15 periods for entry/exit. Group2 uses longer term set at 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, and 60 periods for trending. When the short-term group of averages moves above the longer-term group, it indicates a price uptrend in the asset could be emerging. When the short-term group falls below the longer-term group of MAs, a price downtrend in the asset could be starting. When there is lots of separation between the MAs, this helps confirm the price trend in the current direction. If both groups become compressed with each other, or crisscross, it indicates the price has paused and a price trend reversal is possible.

To save a lot of traders a lot of time, there's no magic bullet. There's no single indicator or set of indicators that will dramatically change your trading. You can use moving averages, oscillators, or phases of the moon as your entry signal. But you won't make a penny if you don't know how to work a position properly. Minimally profitable bots/quants/scripts use portfolio & risk management as a key component to retain gains.
