I tend to treat the moving averages as support or resistance. And each market tends to respect different period for the exponential moving average. You gave some examples of markets that were respecting their 50 period EMA. What I found is that observing the separation between a faster EMA period and a slower one, you can make predictions about when it is moving away from the slow EMA and when it is coming back to test it. At that point when the two lines meet, it may bounce off of it or it may overshoot by 1 TA. At this point it makes a decision about whether to reverse, which is the same behavior we observe at other types of support and resistance (for example, from price structure). I agree, structure takes precedence over EMA, but I treat it just like I would any other kind of support and resistance. Returning to the EMA line and seeing a continuation is so much more common and reliable than trying to guess how far away the current price will move from its EMA on a strong trend.

I use the 9 over the 15 points, combined with RSI rising from lower to higher, volume colored with red and green, and MCAD staying above the signal. This is a pretty reliable system for staying in. I scan for mine with three candles closing above the 9 , higher than average volume by a factor of 3 to 5, and a couple other things...

From around 6-9 minutes, Rayner was talking about using MA to identify strong and weak markets. In the 3 examples; USD/CNH, AUD/JPY, and NZD/JPY which he identified as "strong" markets with the price above the MA50, all 3 fell sharply days after Nov 23 2018 when this video was recorded. That being said, the AOV in 11:15 does actually go up, as much as it is a post-rationalised AOV. I hope people viewing would be critical of everything instead of lapping it all up, and I hope @rayner teo could clarify too regarding the above.
