Best National Forests in the U.S. | Montana Bear Encounters to Colorado 14ers - From an intense encounter with a mother bear and her cubs in Montana to the thrill of surfing a tidal wave in Alaska to summiting a fourteener in Colorado, there are so many adventures to be had in our national forests and we've barely scratched the surface. We've only made it to a dozen or so out of the 154 national forests in the U.S.A.
Our National Forests are federally protected lands and were created to protect trees and water sources vital to the plants and wildlife. Our national forests are also home to more than 3,000 animal species. Since we've visited about a dozen national forests, we thought it would be a great idea to share some of our epic adventures that we've experienced.
