Summiting a 14er in Colorado: Sunlight Peak | San Juan National Forest

Jack and Colton explore the Colorado Rocky Mountains and hike to Sunlight Peak (one of three 14ers in the area) in San Juan National Forest. At the start, hiking to Sunlight Peak may not seem like a daunting task. This wilderness is blessed with rich vibrant colors and has an abundance of wildlife. However, our adventures turns into an intense scramble over sheer rock and rugged terrain after reaching base camp. Watch to find out how they reached the summit.

If my memory services me correct they were not on the true summit.

My understanding is the survey marker is the official summit. However, The Block is the true summit but not necessary to ascend to be considered a completed summit.
