I think all three sounded great, but the Filter'Tron may have been my favorite.

Filtertrons have special charm in teles. 🙂

Filtertron then P90. Hearing them at center switch position with the bridge single coil be a good comparison.

The Filtertron had the highest output of the 3. I thought that the P90 was the most muted. I'd be interested to see how the Filtertron would do against a Humbucker and a Mini-HB.

There is a variable not mentioned here, 500K pots vs. 250K pots. Telecasters typically have 250K pots. If the P90 will not be at its best with 250K pots. IMHO. Those differences matter a lot.

I think the larger pickups sounded better, but the single coil have a more "telecaster feel" to it

I agree with you. Single coil in thinline tele is great for cleanish rhythm stuff. 🙂

It's hard to pick but I'm leaning towards the first brown tele / single coil the best. They all sound nice though 👍

I have the Tex-Mex and it’s great up until distortion. Otherwise, they are classic Tele pups. The Filtertrons do what they do best…compress the sound frequencies for a clear distortion. They always fit in a mix, but can get lost. P90s sorta smooth out the overall sound, which you may or may not want on a tele. Enough bite to cut, tho. Verdict: Hell if I know. I put Filtertrons in an Ibanez RG (project guitar) cause it’s the greatest slide tone ever and Ibanez has a flat fretboard. My Teles? They stay single.

This was most detailed analys of those pickups. You wrote everything right. Thank you for that. 🙂
