Hi! I was wondering if I could put the following mod on this: - Swap the existing neck with a new maple neck - Swap the existing bridge with a modern one with 6 saddles - Swap the tuning pegs with gold Gotoh ones - Change electronics and pickups (I was thinking of doing the Twang king + Chopper T combination) If these are all possible, the guitar looks like a great platform for mods!
@shuttervuleinguitarroom
@shuttervuleinguitarroom 3 ай бұрын
I suggest buying one with a maple neck. This neck is also great, doesn't need to be changed. This guitar is a top loader, so it doesn't have holes for modern bridge, so you must drill them. I didn't change anything more after these mods. 😊

Wow! That was fascinating. Just bought a Burgundy one its got an issue with my Tone Pots and Donner are sending a replacement. Would love to know what you changed? was it the Tone Pots and the Pull switch Volumes? and what did you upgrade to? Also I'm wondering what model Kluson Tuners they are? though I'm sure the kind on my guitar the screw is on an angle and not direct centre bottom like the kinda Grover style on yours? Looks like you installed a Bone nut? Hope you mind the questions I'd appreciate your advice. It looks absolutely awesome with the Bigsby, though not something I would look to do atm. Thank you so much for the Video.

Hi, i thank you for the comment. I changed absolutely everything. I put montys 50s wiring set, tonerider pickups. Kluson tunner, with 90 degree. But comare to your and it is easy to find one that fit. I installed bone nut, but later i changed it for graphtech, because of Bigsby. It is a great guitar and o really hope that you will enjoy yours. 😊

@@shuttervuleinguitarroom Thank you, yeah I've got some Grover's Tuners ordered but sent a Video to Donner re Tone Pot they agree it's defective and will replace the guitar without needing to return the original. Wow! Incredible service. I will install a new nut likely Bone but I'll ask my Luthier. Thank you for your reply.

Old English scratch and dent furniture polish for dark woods.... wipe it on.... let sit for a minute..... wipe it off and done.... won't stain hands/hydrates the fretboard and darkens it at the same time.

old video, but the pole alignment can be easily solved by drilling the proper holes, since the P90 is a dogear, the old holes will be hidden and invisible to everyone. In case that the new holes need to be drilled way too close to the old holes, you can use wood filler or even a wooden stick in order to fill that old hole and drill a new one. Idk if my explanation was clear lol, but yeah you only need a drill, a ruler, and potentially a wooden stick and some glue

Hi, thank's for your video. I also bought this guitar in the same color. Just to say that the pickup is also disaligned, low E is centered to the pole but high E is 2 or 3 mm off, just as yours. I'm not sure if every HB DC junior has this problem, but i'm not very glad about that. Before watching your video i did not notice it. I had seen plenty of enthousiastic reviews about this guitar, but apparently nobody noticed this detail among the rest of good impressions. When opening the back plate behind the pots, i saw that the ground wire (supposed to go through a body hole to the bridge) was alone, they just forgot to connect it! So i think these cheap great guitars need to be checked twice anyway. I will keep mine because it is the second one i recieve, then i will not return it twice. I shall learn to work on it! Ciao amigo

I recently received one of these and I was, frankly, shocked at how good it was. Couldn't find an issue _anywhere._ The frets on mine weren't at all scratchy and had no sharp ends. The instrument sounds good as well. Obviously, it isn't anything like a genuinely high end guitar, but I would still have been very pleased with mine had it cost twice as much. I shall be looking in to Harley Benton's higher priced guitars now.
