If you're into different black metal with sci-fi stylings, check out CREATURE - Eloge De L'Ombre. My favorite album of the year. It's incredible, very unique and progressive songwriting with amazing drumming by the Leprous guy. Seriously the most unique thing you will hear this year.

Getting strong Obsequiae vibes off that Mystras track. What a year for Death/Doom it's been, Hooded Menace, Ophis, Worm, Wharfluch, Extreme Cold Winter, Rothadas, Asphyx, and now Mortiferum. Wow. Quite interesting set of bands there, I'm also waiting for the Voices one (the singles are fantastic so far) and now will be looking forward the Apsû one (just noticed it is Absu's follow up band with an amazing line up), and will give a listen to Hex A.D. (the title of that record is simply ridiculous and appealing hahaha) and the german black metal miners (?).

@@erikdead8290 Yeah, I definitely recommend Belore as well. It's a solo French epic/atmospheric black metal project. The debut last year was in my top ten for black metal. Hex A. D.'s album last year was also pretty high for me. German black metal is my favorite, so Dauþuz is the one I'm looking forward to the most.

CREATURE - "Eloge De L'Ombre" is the easy winner for best release of November, and probably of the year. Fucking incredible and different release, really never heard anything like it. Hard to describe, but some kind of otherworldly black metal that goes into a lot of other territories. Epic, emotional, and just plain awesome. Miss only if you're a fool!

Another great I, Voidhanger record that came out in November is CREATURE - ELoge De L'Ombre. I keep repping it because it's fucking incredible. Very unusual black metal with progressive stylings and amazing and mesmerizing druming by the Leprous guy. My favorite album of the year.

Mystras!!!! album of the month - contender for one of the albums of the year too. Great mix of medieval and local folk themes, and raging, righteous riffs! Nice shout on Gaahl's Wyrd as well, been enjoying that a lot. Beautifully elemental black metal.

Fortress put on a really solid debut EP a few years back. I was kind of hoping for a full length album more similar to the style of that one. I do like the new one however. They’ve really incorporated a lot of US power metal elements to the latest. Kind of a interesting direction for a newer traditional heavy metal band to go in.
