Hi Beautiful Veronica, thanks for mentioning Vanagloria.... yes Vanagloria and YSL Babycat are by the same perfumer (Dominique Ropion)..the only difference I can find is that Vanagloria can a tad more masculine than Babycat. Note: you have some very interesting stories about the Owl in your backyard, then you discovered the Owl between 2 trees on Floraiku cap..and now Zoologist Snowy Owl...you have such a great sense of humor😂😂😄

I'm so sad the Blind Buy Chronicles is going away (it's actually the type of video I first found you), but totally understand! This is a great format and just love hearing what you're trying and loving in general anyway. I honestly didn't know how you were doing the 1-in-1-out... I don't think I could follow through with that myself. HA! Amouage really does have beautiful bottles. While I can appreciate the quality of the house, I've learned firsthand that they're either a love or hate and rarely a meh. I've got a small handful of them on my try list but it's helpful to hear your guy likes Guidance (noted!). That's a great benchmark and while I typically wear fragrance for my own enjoyment, it always helps when others enjoy it too. 😜 And you're so welcome!! After hearing your thoughts on Limitless Shopping, I really think I need to give it a real chance. I've only sprayed on paper and I know, I know... lol

It is fun trying out new scents. I went out of my comfort zone (im usually a light floral or fruity gal). I went into Sepbora, picked up Phlur Missing Person. It is such a lightweight musk. Not the 70's musk. I loved it so much, i ordered the body lotion and full-size edp!! Love it. Another new fav is Glossier You.

I know we talked about Vanagloria and that you were going to order it. I did the same, got here yesterday and I love it. I can tell the differences between BabyCat and Vanagloria, too. They are similar, same perfumer, but they are not identical more like cousins. They sent me a sample of The Architect's Club from Arquiste and Divine Vanilla from Essential Parfums and I loved them so much that ordered them yesterday. After I recoup from that purchase and the purchase of the new Lovers from Fragrance Du Bois, I really want to get Guidance.

I keep up with fragrances I test out in my Fragrantica profile, so I was recently able to calculate that I love about 14% of what I sample. I thought that was sobering because it made me realize how many I would have to test before finding another love! Of course, reviews and research help with increasing those odds.

Same Julie. I sample about 10-15 fragrances a month and usually only like 1-2 to purchase full bottles. I think that’s what sampling is all about, the hunt of wear testing before you buy. Blind buying takes away the hunt, bc I’ve already committed. I definitely think sampling is much more “exciting”.

Sample Chronicles is just as fun as Blind Buy Chronicles. (And less costly to you!). Purchase or Pass is a bit more catchy though. Yes, Vanagloria is one that people compare to Babycat. There are similarities but they are not the same. Sampling is MUCH less costly, for sure! 😄 I wonder what you would think of Guidance. People seem to love it or hate it. I think it's great!

The opening is a little challenging because it's strong green leaf smell is hard for me because I'm not a fan of green scents but after a minute the green settles to the background & this amazing coconut takes the lead. Yet another coincidence...I literally just finished testing my travel spray of Gold Coast that came today .It's definitely a keeper. And Arethusa was the first TT that I ever bought. I don't get any Jolly Ranchers, thank goodness. There is very little sweetness in the scent, while Jolly Ranchers always seemed tooth-achingly sweet to me:)

I’ve got a large sample of Guidance and so far I like it a lot. Need to test it more. I agree the “one in one out” format did seem tough. I’m glad you are making a change that will be easier and more natural for you. BUT - don’t get rid of your monthly recaps!

I've been sampling a lot too. And I'm thinking of reselling my samples at a reasonable price. That way other people can sample to same things for a better price than outright buying samples too. It does get expensive to buy samples. I actually think that Twisted Lily sells their samples at a decent price though. I can still get like 30 ML for about $100 if using a coupon code. Sampling, especially for niche fragrance makes since. Blind buying is silly when you have access to sample the fragrance and wear test. While it’s relatively easy to return designer fragrances, returning niche fragrances is more difficult bc they usually aren’t available at mass retailers.
