It's also sort of famous for the Ryan family's matriarch Evelyn. Her son wrote a book about her way of keep her poor 10 child family into a damn near middle class family by "working" full time writing into and winning prizes, contests, raffles and eventually "pay" for every toaster, television, bicycle, watch and car the family ever owned and vacation had. My mom idolizes the woman and it's one of the 3 or 4 pieces of trivia or stories every parent will tell anyone human being alive, even if they'd heard it 4 million times by now by THEM. EDIT: Grammar.

Remember that there is a broadcast standard non regional dialect for American News broadcasts. They all sound the same because they are coached to be the same, along the lines of received pronunciation. You had New York and Oregon broadcasts in the video and they sound nothing alike from locals.
@AmyEugene3 жыл бұрын
I don't know about New York, but the Oregon broadcast (the shrinking box) is my local station and I didn't notice anything unusual about her accent. Fun fact: Ann Curry grew up in Ashland, Oregon and Ty Burrell (Phil from Modern Family) is from Grants Pass.
@Mercifies3 жыл бұрын
And the New York one (second to the last clip) is the same dialect of the people in the area (as that's my local channel). It's called the Inland North or Great Lakes dialect, and that's where the dialect for American News broadcasts originated

America is so big, it could be sliced into several European-sized countries and still be leaders in world commerce of all types themselves. A book I got during my final college years, Ecotopia Emerging I think was the name, studied that idea, but divided the US into economic zones or states. If I recall there ended up being 7 or 8 defined areas. It was esoteric then, and probably archaic now.

Please make reaction to Diana Ankudinova - the most unique young talented singer. One of my favourite things to find and enjoy is music that gives me chills and goosebumps. I was cruising KZbin recently and discovered a Russian talent show contestant that did just that, with one of the best, most unique voices I've heard in many years. Her delivery was nothing short of magical and I searched out more and more and more, and...more chills. I was stunned to find that the first performance I heard was when she was 14!!!! She's now 17 and still developing. She sings in Russian, French, English and Arabic. The covers she performed on that show are very popular on KZbin. Many KZbinrs publish reactions on these performances, which include the ethnic song "River" (in a new musical arrangement), "Blizzard", "Wicked Game", "Human", "Derniere Danse", "Helwa Ya Baladi" and others. Please react to one of Diana's songs and I promise she will surprise you.
