Other channels highlighted it's main function only, but you mentioned making soups and other things, as well as how to use the silicone mat in the oven to make almond flour!!!

So I presume while it likely tastes better, the nut milk may not be as healthy as the milk cold pressed in the J2? As it would oxidise and produce heat etc., like normal blenders?

How does this compared to the Nutramilk which also makes nut butter? The Nama one def looks smaller than the Nutramilk machine.
@discountjuicers
@discountjuicers 2 ай бұрын
The Nama M1 will only make nut milk and can do a few other things like make extractions, but can not do dry grinding (to make nut butter), the Nutramilk can also be used as a food processor. In terms of NUT MILK: For the price, warranty, time used, cleaning, and size, I would say the Nama M1 is superior to the Nutramilk (1 yr warranty) and that thing is a beast! On the finished product- the nutramilk basically makes nut butter and then blends in and strains out the nut milk, which contains more fiber, so it does have a richer texture and is a "heavier" milk, it is also more difficult to clean and more expensive. The Nama M1 works significantly faster (3 minutes including cleaning!) Nutramilk is at least 10 minutes + Cleaning So maybe 15+ minutes. Only you can decide which style of nut milk and the amount of work you want to invest in making nut milk..

I'd be interested to see an oat / nut milk comparison between the Nama M1 and the Nama J2 - In theory if I have the J2 I can make all the same plant milks in that, but is there a difference?... Does anyone need both?...
@discountjuicers
@discountjuicers 2 ай бұрын
There is a huge difference between the Nama J2 which was designed as a juicer (but can also make nut milk) but IMO does a TERRIBLE job at making nut milk, as I reveal in the video kzbin.info/www/bejne/mZ3ZnnWVrtaoabs Why does the J2 do a poor job? Two reasons: 1. Does not grind up and extract all the nutrients and fats from the nuts since there is minimal grinding done as the nut works out of the machine. It makes more of a nut butter than a true nut pulp. 2. It makes a very WATERY nut milk, that has a low % of extracted fats and nutrients from the nuts. Do you need the M1? If you make nut milk once a month and don't mind inferior nut milk, then NO you don't need the M1. But if you make nut milk regularly and drink a lot of Nut milk, then I say YES! because 1. The M1 is EASIER to clean than the Nama J2 (Takes me 1 minute to clean m1) vs 4-5 minutes for J2 2. The M1 GRINDS up the nuts BETTER than the J2 and extracts more nutrition and fats from the nuts 3. the M1 GETS the nut pulp more DRY and EXTRACTED than the Nama J2. I will have a future video where I compare the j2 and m1 making nut milk.

I wish they could do that also, but the J2 motor is FIXXED RPM at 50, and the M1 has a special motor that can run at 10,000 RPM to blend and 2500 RPM to spin and extract the nut milk. In the future when motor technology advances, it would be possible to have one motor that does it all!

Hi John, I appreciate your very in-depth video on the Nama M1. I do have a question: Why do we not have to soak the nuts prior to making the nut milk? All other ones that I have seen including the Nama J2 we have to soak the nuts first.
@discountjuicers
@discountjuicers 4 күн бұрын
The M1 is essentially a blender so it can break down UNSOAKED nuts without soaking. The J2 juicer on the other hand is a juicer and not meant for processing dry nuts and processes soaked nuts more effectively. Please watch kzbin.info/www/bejne/jZOYfHxmr9V_ga8 for how both these machines work to make nut milk differently. That being said some people like to soak ALL nuts before making nut milk to remove enzyme inhibitors and reduce phytic acid as well as start the germination process.
@marcelinalafrentz2155
@marcelinalafrentz2155 4 күн бұрын
@@discountjuicers Thank you for your response. So the only reason to soak the nuts is to remove the enzyme inhibitors and reduce phytic acid and start the germination process. I had done a little research and was under the understanding that the reason for soaking was to start the germination process. This is why I was curious as to why with the Nama M1 we don't have to do that. So regardless if it is with the Nama M1 or a blender it is our choice to soak the nuts first depending on what health benefits it has either way and not because of the machine that is doing something different.

I did use oats as well as other nuts to make the Golden Milk. You can add in 1/2 cup of oats with 1/2 cup nuts (or other ratios, 1/3,1/3,1/3) to create some delicious recipes, since oats are lower in fat they don't taste as rich, and the secret is getting your recipe right, there are several recipes in the M1 recipe book to get you started!

You CAN soak the almonds if you like, but it's not necessary for the machine to work. I rarely plan ahead so I'm not good at pre-soaking my nuts, which can be a good thing to start the sprouting process, remove enzyme inhibitors and decrease phytic acid. To make it thicker you can 1) add nuts or 2) reduce water. Which needs to be within certain amounts for the machine to work properly. You need to have enough liquid in there so the M1 will blend, so you can add a minimum of 2 cups of water You can load up the M1 with a cup or two of ingredients maximum or you will be overloading the chamber that spins out the milk.

Hi there! Similar to juice, 3 days is optimal in the fridge. Separation can occur, so feel free to stir it if this happens. You can also freeze the milk in ice cube trays and even use it to make sorbet. The dry pulp could be stored for about that long as well for baking and other recipes. Hope this helps!

I would agree that a vacuum blender would make a more nutritious nut milk than the M1. However, cleaning the stainless screen of the M1 is easier than cleaning a nut milk bag in my opinion. If they made the Nama M1 a vacuum milk maker that would have been ideal, I did recommend that, and they may have an attachment for that one day, although blending would be under vacuum, not sure how they would spin it out and still keep the vacuum when you have to open the spout to have it spin, although you could have most it vacuum made when you just drain it out.

That's a good question, if you already have a stick blender the Vegan Milk Emulsifier is a No-brainer since its so inexpensive to purchase, however it is a fair amount of work to use it (and there is a slight learning curve to use it correctly) I did use that at the trade show, ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/bHqrqX6ZlKiBkK8 ) and it did a great job and is easy to clean. The downside of that machine is that it adds lots of air when making the milk. But was quite fast and efficient. The M1 on the other hand has a 15 yr warranty, and there is no work on your part to make nut milk and about a minute of cleaning when your done. So each method has its own pros and cons.

I just bought my J2 earlier this year and I really want this one but if they could just make an attachment that would be better than me having to spend the money on another machine and having two separate units instead of just two separate containers basically.
@discountjuicers
@discountjuicers 2 ай бұрын
It is not possible to make an attachment for the J2 to extract nut milk like the m1. The motor of the J2 runs at 50 RPM (preset) and can not be changed, where as the motor in the M1 is a dual speed motor and can run at 10,000 RPM (grinding) and 2,500 RPM for spinning. That being said you can make nut milk in the Nama J2, I recommend watching my video for the best way to do it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mZ3ZnnWVrtaoabs

You can surely add warm water, adding hot water is another story. While the M1 has vent holes, so the steam can vent out, it is made of plastic. Every plastic has a heat tolerance. I don't know the specifics on the BPA-FREE plastic used in the M1, but to be cautious I would not recommend adding liquids hotter than 180 degrees to be on the safe side.

I am not a fan generally of "automatic" sprouters. The best automatic one was the easygreen but it's no longer available. I personally sprout in jars myself when I Sprout. Although Sprout bags may be better for some seeds/beans due to the greater airflow and can help keep things not as moist, which can be problematic in some cases.

@discountjuicers
@discountjuicers 2 ай бұрын
@@chayfagan4841 The main issue with most automatic sprouters on the market today is that they tend to recycle the same water to keep the sprouts moist. While this might seem efficient, it often leads to contamination as the water quickly becomes stale. Over time, this can cause the sprouts to get slimy and even produce an unpleasant odor. In contrast, methods like jars or sprout bags allow for fresh water rinses each time, reducing the risk of bacterial buildup and keeping the sprouts fresher and cleaner.

What is the benefit of buying this vs using my Nama J2 to make plant milk
@discountjuicers
@discountjuicers 2 ай бұрын
There is a huge difference between the M1 and the J2 which was designed as a juicer (but can also make nut milk) IMO the J2 does a TERRIBLE job at making nut milk, as I reveal in the video kzbin.info/www/bejne/mZ3ZnnWVrtaoabs Why does the J2 do a poor job? @discountjuicers
@discountjuicers 2 ай бұрын
Totally understand where you're coming from-the price can feel high for sure! While slow juicers can make nut milk, they often don’t grind the nuts finely enough, resulting in a more watery milk and a lot of wasted nuts. A Vitamix can produce similar quality milk, but it’s a lot more work: you need to blend, strain, and squeeze by hand, which takes more time and can be pretty messy. The M1, on the other hand, is designed specifically for nut milk, giving you creamy, smooth milk in just 2 minutes, with a super easy 1-minute cleanup. If time and convenience are key, the M1 might just be worth it! Also the M1 has a 15 year warranty, so really its like paying $26.66 a year to have a dedicated nut milk maker on your team.

@@kgaoletsaDNA0 There are surely dedicated soy milk makers, they cook soybeans and then mix them with water, and then strain them, but the issue is that you have to use a large ratio of water to soybeans, and it does not FULLY ring out the spend soy, so it's a very dilute milk. The Soyabella by Tribest is one such appliance. What makes the M1 so unique is the unique "spin cycle" that gets the pulp almost as dry as hand squeezing.

Can you make soy milk or just nut milk
@Namawell
@Namawell Ай бұрын
Hi there! Yes, you can make soy milk with the Nama M1! However, since the M1 doesn’t have a heating element, making soy milk is a two-step process. Soybeans must be cooked first to create smooth, creamy soy milk in the M1 and to ensure safe consumption. Here’s how to make soy milk in the Nama M1: 1. Start by soaking 1 cup of dry soybeans in water for 8-12 hours. 2. After soaking, drain and rinse the soybeans. Then, cook them in boiling water for about 15-20 min, or until fully cooked and tender. Drain again, then let the soybeans cool off - They should not feel hot to the touch. 3. Add the cooked soybeans to the M1, along with fresh water. For a creamier consistency, we recommend a 1:2 ratio of cooked soybeans to water. Add to the M1 and blend for 1 min. 4. If desired, add a natural sweetener like maple syrup, dates, or vanilla during the blending process to taste. Once completed, you’ll have homemade soy milk ready to enjoy. Hope this helps!

Ease of use, price, warranty, cleaning, size, etc. etc. aside, in terms of just pure milk - the true finished product - I'm guessing you'd say the Nutrimilk is still superior? @discountjuicers 2 ай бұрын
For the price, warranty, time used, cleaning, and size, I would say the Nama M1(15 Year Warranty) is superior to the Nutramilk (1 yr warranty) and that thing is a beast!

I recommend using filtered water where chlorine & fluoride and other contaminants are removed. I personally use distilled water because it is PURE water without any minerals. You can also use Reverse Osmosis Water. My belief is that the hard minerals in water are not best for us to drink as they are not well absorbed and may have negative health effects. I would rather blend nuts and other foods(that contain more absorbable minerals) that are in the right form to consume. However, in the M1 you can use any liquid such as tap water, coconut water, or even coffee. I will have future videos showing the fun you can have.

@discountjuicers
@discountjuicers 2 ай бұрын
Thank you for your comment! I see how the term "addicted" could come across a bit strong, and I definitely didn't mean to suggest that anyone who enjoys a pinch of salt is an "addict." I was speaking casually, and in hindsight, I could have been more precise with my wording. Many people simply enjoy salt, and that's completely normal. That said, it’s worth noting that the American Heart Association (AHA) recommends no more than 1,500 milligrams of sodium per day for optimal heart health, while most Americans consume around 3,400 milligrams daily-more than double the recommendation. Over time, regular high-sodium intake can lead to taste adaptation, meaning that people may gradually require more salt to achieve the same flavor satisfaction. This isn’t about addiction in a clinical sense, but rather how our taste buds can adjust to higher sodium levels. I totally understand that a pinch of salt isn’t harmful on its own. My main point is just to be mindful of overall intake, as too much sodium can have long-term health effects. Again, I really appreciate your feedback, and I hope this helps clarify my intent!

Thanks for your comment! I understand your concern about distilled water. The reason I use it in this video is that I’m adding it with nutrient-dense foods, like nuts, when making milk with the Nama M1. The minerals from the food itself help replenish what’s missing from the water, so you're still getting a healthy, mineral-rich drink. Regarding distilled water, it’s true that it lacks minerals, but it’s also free from contaminants, which can make it a great base for food preparation. When consumed with a balanced diet, the nutrients from food help compensate for any mineral loss. Studies show that distilled water can be safely consumed if your diet includes foods rich in minerals. In the context of this recipe, the Nama M1 ensures that the plant milk is rich in nutrition.
