I think Mushoku Tensei captivated a lot of people because of the excellent world building. Other animated series such as Avatar The Last Airbender, Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood, and Attack on Titan all share this quality as well. @senerio21242 жыл бұрын
@@manwithnoname8229 While there isn't a whole lot given throughout, it does a great job at immersing you into the world by demonstrating how a society plagued by titans can still operate and along the way small bits and pieces are revealed that help paint a better picture of what is really going on. Examples of worldbuilding are the obvious social hierarchy's that exist throughout the series, certain reveals like titans existing within the walls after all this time, and just the anti-titan sentiment/ culture in general. Not to mention the extensive use of fictional technology such as the odm gear which has gone on to become one of the most recognizable things from AOT.

Ranking of Kings is the only story of any medium I can remember experiencing where I'm rooting for EVERY character to achieve their objective. It's a testament to the absolutely astounding writing that even the main antagonist who initiated all the tragic events in the show is still deeply sympathetic. It crafts a world where there's not necessarily bad guys and good guys but people who want things desperately enough they'd hurt others to do it and unbiased observers could understand why they'd be making those choices. I want everyone to experience it because I hope it can help people see that people who disagree with you or want different things to you aren't necessarily evil or naïve or selfish or ignorant. They may have very good reasons to feel totally differently than you do and that doesn't make them lesser.

Mushoku Tensei is one of those anime that can completely reinvigorate someone's passion for the medium. This was a year that had some of my all time favourites deliver banger seasons, fantastic new entries and the god damn end of Eva. Sonny Boy is the saddest anime of the year for me. It bounces around different themes throughout its short run, but it always explains them in extremely unique and thought-provoking ways. The art never feels boring or plain, as it uses every trick in the book to express the themes clearly. The soundtrack is so fitting with its math-rock and use of synths throughout the ost. It fits the whole jumping through worlds vibe. Reading the author's insight on each episode also really gave me an appreciation for his writing and characters. I often think the reason that people hate it so much is because they were looking for a story that didn't exist. The main focus of Sonny Boy was always the characters, themes, and social standings in unfamiliar situations. The writer does such a good job explaining the transition into adulthood without needing to say much. Which leads me to the ending. The emptiness that Sonny Boy leaves you with is unlike any other. It isn't a super sad tear-jerker that tries too hard to make you cry. Rather, it leaves you with a hole in your chest and your mind wanting more. It is truly a one-of-a-kind anime that not everyone can appreciate since most of the viewers have not gone through that transition yet.

it seems that anime has really branched out in art. i’m really happy that different styles are being given a shot bc their effects and stories can be just as gorgeous and effective as the way anime has traditionally looked

Ranking of Kings was not at all what I was expecting. I went into it with zero expectations, all I knew was the art style. It blew me away. One of the best shows I have EVER had the pleasure of watching. Amazing to say the least.

2020 left me pretty depressed. The pandemic and lack of good anime. 2021 resurrected my love to anime. As you said, even though Arcane isn't an anime, it was the show I gave a chance after nearly 2 years of not watching anime. Arcane and Mushoku brought back the love for animation I thought was gone.

Odd taxi was hands down my favorite. All I heard about the show going in was "yeah this show is now one of my favorites" and I was like huh guess I'll watch it. I watched the whole thing in one sitting and was blown away. A mystery that literally comes together in the back of a taxi and the wacky characters that frequent it. The idea itself is just so genius I'm convinced whoever came up with it is the next messiah. And it's executed so damn well that even when I try I can't say I have any legitimate criticisms of it. Except maybe that they cut the sax solo out of half of the intros to get a couple seconds more runtime. Although if it means a couple more seconds of the show I guess I can't really complain.

People sometimes forget that characters are also a reflection of us, humans, and the more a character has these humanly flaws, while not embracing them but rising against them, the more relatable and real that character feels. That's what made Mushoku Tensei my favourite anime of the year. It's how Rudeus is a normal human, fighting his emotions his habits his very own damn self because he has the sense of what is wrong in him, he understands himself and tries to be better. That's rare in anime characters.

Oddtaxi is probably my favorite anime of all time. It's one of the most engrossing viewing experiences I've ever had. The best part was watching it come out week by week as the community attempted to figure out the mysteries. I highly recommend watching it now, but I don't think I'll ever have an experience like that of watching the mystery unfold over time.

in case you didn't know, they actually added additional content through radio shows? you can find transcripts of it, but its actually super interesting as it shows basically a voice recorder being passed between characters during different parts of the season.

jesus christ as soon as the mushoku tensei theme started playing my whole body shuddered with chills. I love the anime so much and I'm truly happy that many others can appreciate it for what it truly is and look past the isekai ecchi tags. Honestly the ending of season 2 broke my heart (in a good way ig I'm not actually depressed) so yeah I can't fucking wait for season 3. Kudos

bro i couldnt wait no more, i finished the manga, now on the light novel volume 19. Honestly if you enjoyed the anime as much as I did i highly recommend the novel. Only sad part is there is no animation, voice acting or music that plays along with the novel. What keeps me still reading is the world building. The more they progress in the light novel there is more world buliding and story that is to be told. Anyways highly suggest it.

I couldn't believe how amazing Mushoku turned out to be. I've been wishing for an adaption for so long, and the wait was worth it. Every episode basically made me cry, it brought out the heart that was hidden in between the lines of the wn. It didn't ran away from the offensive themes in the ln, and embraced the message to push each other up even if they're not forgivable. It told a story that can only be told in anime form, because its beauty can not be captured without the artistic freedom in drawn mediums. It's my favourite anime, probably of my 27 years on this planet, along with Arcane.
