Is it just me, or can rivals be either the easiest things to mess up or the shittiest things to have messed up? Cause it's like, in DMC3 the whole point is to fight Vergil, to be strong enough to beat him, so it's always cool when you reach him, and in Bayonetta, I don't think I caught her name, but Jeanne (if that's her name and not the form/her name in her powered up form), it's fun when she shows up, her fights are good, and the interaction between her and Bayonetta are entertaining. I'm running on like 3-5 hours of sleep, so to summarize/clarify a bit, it's awesome when the rival shows up and you're like "sweet, another fight with this badass!" but when the rival shows up and you're just annoyed like "go away, fuck off!" Basically like that Speed of Sound Sonic guy from One Punch-Man, that dynamic except not funny, like they show up "you're not as strong as me!" and your character's like "hmm no, I think we're at least equal, in fact I'm a bit stronger than you if anything" then you mop the floor with them and the rival's like "you got lucky this time, I'll beat you next time" and you're guy's like "you're right, I need to get stronger!" Just get the fuck outta here.
